I'm the son of a disabled WWII veteran and I was honored to witness this scene last week. I was about 75' down and on the USCGC Duane wreck. Our dive team had just untangled Old Glory. It's shaky, but I was fighting a current at the time.

Thank you to everyone that served, and continue to serve. Your sacrifice will never be fully understood by most. Some of us made it back home a little...different. Others never really made it back at all. What's certain is all of you wrote a blank check to protect and serve the people, and the constitution of the United States and for that, I salute you. Thank you all for your replies. I got a little...emotional....reading them.

I heard something on the radio yesterday...I can;t seem to find it. I don;t remember all of it but it went something like this:

It's not the politicians that give us the right to vote, it's the Veterans.
It's not the media that gives us free speech, it's the Veterans.
It's not the priests that give us religious freedom, it's the Veterans.

I can't remember the rest of it...but you get the idea.
