If we started the season without CD lamb, Mike McCarthy will have his bags packed on the sidelines. L, o, l,

not happening.

Remember me and you both agree to this, can't wait until it happens. They kill us with saying they can't spend, but end up paying too much I'm so confused
We're cheap with outside FAs and over spend on our own. Sometimes it makes sense sometimes I'm left scratching my head. Lol

Can we truly open up against Cleveland without Daks #1 weapon, I'm not sure if I see this happening. I see Jerry folding under the pressure, and ceedee getting what he wants. Can you see him still holding out during the season, please give your thoughts
If Dak is as great as his fan club says he is he should be able to improvise and overcome this problem. The rest of us know better, though, and the lack of a #1 receiver will be an overused excuse.

CeeDee will eventually get tired of paying the fines, so we will see who caves first.

Why not? We have the 16th best player in the league, right? This should just be a minor annoyance to our great QB. No different than when Mahomes lost Tyreek Hill.

ARTICLE 42, CLUB DISCIPLINE, Section 1:

(viii) Unexcused late reporting for or absence from preseason training camp by a player under contract signed as a Drafted or Undrafted Rookie, pursuant to Article 7, except for a player in the fifth League Year of his Rookie Contract (the option year) after his Club has exercised the Fifth-Year Option pursuant to Article 7, Section 7— fine of $40,000 per day.
(ix) Unexcused late reporting for or absence from preseason training camp by a player in the fifth League Year of his Rookie Contract (the option year) after his Club has exercised the Fifth-Year Option pursuant to Article 7, Section 7 shall subject the player to the discipline set forth in Article 7, Section 7(h).

ARTICLE 7, ROOKIE COMPENSATION AND ROOKIE COMPENSATION POOL, Section 7. Fifth-Year Option for First Round Selections:

(h) Breach. (i) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in Article 42 or Article 4, after the Club has exercised its Fifth-Year Option for any player selected in the first round of the 2016 or any subsequent Draft, any unexcused late reporting to or absence from preseason training camp by a player in the fifth League Year of his contract (the option year) shall subject the player to a fine of $40,000 per day for the 2020-2025 League Years and $45,000 per day for the 2026-2030 League Years, plus one week’s regular season salary for each preseason game missed. For purposes of this Subsection, Preseason Training Camp shall be defined as the period beginning with the mandatory reporting date for that player through the Sunday immediately preceding the first game of the NFL regular season. For the sake of clarity and the avoidance of doubt, the Progressive Discipline requirement set forth in Article 42, Section 1(a) shall not apply to any fine under this Subsection.

I thought they can’t fine CD because of his rookie contract status, or am I mistaken.
I could not find anything in the CBA that exempts players from receiving fines throughout their rookie contract, even if its fifth-year option is exercised.

Jerry long ago stopped caring about winning. It’s all about the Benjamin’s. So yes

Jerry will overpay. It makes no sense to do nothing in FA, then refuse to sign your players unless you are mad about the GB loss (he's not), or you want to tank (too far away from the rim), or you plan on trading him (he doesn't have the guts or the smarts).
Mark my words, this is exactly what will happen!

Yeah....

Jalen Tolbert, primary receiver on opening day against the Browns defense.

Translation:

Single coverage by either Pro Bowler Denzel Ward or Greg Newsome Jr., an extra safety in the box against an already apathetic running game featuring the debut of a rookie playing opposite Myles Garrett.

CeeDee knows he's getting signed. Besides, he's a WR, Jerry's favorite position, believe me.
No that's #4!! I agree, if we go out there with a person that DOESN'T scare their defense, ONE CB from the browns will play lights out and lock our backup guys up. I swear though, if we faced against a team that didn't have their starter, somehow a backup from their team would have an all world game against us!

Longhorns are #3 in AP preseason poll and Ewers is one of the favorites for the Heisman.

I think we are going to be ok, after all, we did go into Tuscaloosa and kick Alabama's *** last year.:dance::dance::dance::dance:
Yay paper champs! Hook'em Horns!

I guess you think its fine for CeeDee to be fined a million dollars for every preseason game he misses. I don't like it and he should be at camp like Dak is. At this point he's hurting the team.
