Can Mark Colombo play LT? What about Flozell Adams at RT?

Can Mark Colombo play LT? If so, then I would move him there and see what I can get for Flozell Adams via trade. Then in the draft (or free-agency) we can try getting someone to replace Flo, or if possible, move him to RT next to Leonard Davis. Davis and Adams could make a very huge strong-set OL tandem. Dallas could run behind that set all day as long Garrett writes some running plays into the playbook.

I also think Kossier and Colombo would make a more mobile OL set on the other side, especially when trying to block those speed rushers. That's something Flozell Adams cannot do and teams easily beat Dallas again down the stretch by lining their fastest defenders opposite Flozell Adams to either run by him of force him to false-start in fear of their speed rush.

Hey, I'm just trying to think of how these puzzle pieces could be used differently to be potentially more effective, especially since Jerry Jones has mandated that change is only something the Cowboys will do as long as it doesn't involve any personnel changes. :laugh2:

I very much doubt that Colombo can play LT. Flo had a broken left hand most of the season. I also doubt he would have played as badly as he did if he were two-handed.

We need to draft or sign a solid OL this off season. But, the starting OL will be the same guys that were the starting OL in December.

I think Colombo would have the same problems. He's not very athletic...he's more of a mauler...he's the perfect RT. IMO

Defenses would just flip their speed rusher to Flo's side. Then have two slower, power blockers trying to pick up a speed rusher.

If your going with Flo (which you have to based on the cap) at LT, then we need to run more 2 TE sets, IMO.

let me ask a potentially stupid question - but going left to right, would your motions "reverse" so to speak? kinda like if you're right handed trying to bat left handed?

No, it's his right ear.

Yes, your technique is exactly the reverse. This is why you try to make as few moves to the OL as possible. We suffered through Proctor when we new his was horrible because we didn't want to make multiple position changes to the line. However, in the case of Columbo, he was actually a LT when he came out of college. I'm not 100% sure of that but I believe he played LT at BC and was drafted as a LT by the Bears.

It doesn't matter where you try to hide Flozell. The word is out. Put your best speed rusher on him. I don't think his penalty problem would change much either.
