With his strong leg. It would be nice if he could handle kickoffs.

:lmao2: Hoffman was nothin but a waste of money his last 5 or so years in Dallas.

He is not the cure all for kickers

He said earlier this season that he would try to learn , but it will probably take him a year or two before he can be consistent.

Gramatica is actually pretty good on kickoffs, on par with Vinateiri.

Not sure if it's an error or not, but NFL.com has him kicking off twice this season. If I remember correctly the balls ended up (after return) to the 5 and the 34. Not a bad average, but pretty inconsistent.

this was not kicks after Safeties, before someone chimes in with that explaination.

we have a very short COWBOY memory, don't we....

:starspin

The guy played friggin Aussie rules football. For those of you that aren't familiar with the sport, you have to be proficient at several different kicking styles to play well...half volleys, short drops, place kicks (free kicks placed on a tee much like NFL kickoffs), etc. Kicking is the most important skill involved in the sport.

I would be shocked if this guy couldn't learn how to do kickoffs in a matter of weeks. They should be giving him kickoff reps in practice asap. IMO.

Hoffman always found something out of nothing.

If it's not kicks after safties (which it is), then it is an error.

give him a shot in practice....see what happens.....but, I am sure BP has tried him

Because his last year sucked ..... brought his average way down.

I think Cundiff had some type of record ..... but I am to lazy to look it up

5 FGs in one game, he also had the longest kick in Cowboy history, but he was nothing special, inconsistent
