Let's reel in all the talk of making it to the NFCCG for a minute and take this one step at a time. Can these Dallas Cowboys get past the WC round this year? Can they beat the likes of TB12 on the road and or the Panthers? I think they can and should. This appears to me to be a different team than years past. More well rounded in all 3 phases and they have cohesiveness. Granted, they still have their problems but what team doesn't. I think this team can and will impose its will in the WC round and come away with a win. Then....the real competition comes to play. It's then we will see what this team is made of. Gotta take that elusive first step before we talk about championship games.

That would be a reasonable expectation based on the won / loss records.
Any wins afterwards would be us winning in an upset and would be icing on the cake.

Unless a minor miracle happens and the Cowboys steal the NFC East it’s going to take three road playoff wins for the Cowboys to reach the Super Bowl. Just don’t see it happening. The Cowboys last road playoff win was 30 years ago in the 92 NFC title game at San Francisco. They’re 0-8 in road playoff games since. Three of our four losses this season were on the road.

They can. As I was reading your post, I was internally agreeing with everything you stated, and then I began to feel that all too familiar emptiness that is steeped in fear.

I’ve felt like we’ve had the pieces in place a few different times, only to have the rug pulled out from beneath me. Excitement is immediately traded in for shock, disbelief, and the aforementioned emptiness when the playoff dust settles. I hate it!

I am really hoping this time around we have a team ready to take that next step. It has been too long.

They won't be favored in any games should they beat Tampa and advance.
3 straight upsets is a tall order.

I think going into the season, everyone thought this was a semi rebuild year. Then when we lost Dak, everyone was already heading to the draft threads. It's a long shot at the division but the football God's might throw these boys a bone, I mean they might wanna look out for the team that put a hole on the roof for him to watch this team. I think this team can hit the road and do some serious damage. Only team thay matches up well with these boys is the 9ers to be honest. Nothing would make me happier than to best the Eagles in Philly on our way to a SB.

Home-field advantage is usually a big advantage in the playoffs unless you’re the Cowboys. Everywhere you play on the road it’s like heading into a hornets nest because the intensity is so much higher for a playoff game.

Being a Boys fan and disappointed year after year I have some serious hope for this squad. If the D gets it together we gonna win it all baby. Philly IS a Hurts'in lol with his wounded wing
You Eagles fans gonna eat some rotten winged maggot meat come playoff time.

I completely agree. Going into JerryWorld is like walking into a jewelry store. No strategic advantage with crowd noise, wind or weather. The fans forget when to make noise, sometimes drowning out their own offense. Plus, the video screen makes every good play by the opponent a showcase moment. Opponents LOVE our stadium.

beating Tampa will be an accomplishment for Dak and MM. First step towards proving there is progress.
If they lose at tampa MM should be fired and Dak would have cemented his legacy as a mediocre QB who was grosssly overpaid.

Obviously they can. They are very likely to win the first game and they are good enough to beat any team in the league.

Yes , we can and should win WC round. And that’s prob all we should expect.
Really, why is that? Any of the other teams can certainly lose a game and the Cowboys are certainly good enough to beat any team. It wouldn't surprise me if any of the other teams lose a game in their home stadium.

The winner of the NFC South is probably going to be no better than .500, the Bucs are currently 7-8.

If you cant beat a .500 team in the first round of the playoffs, you suck and probably should not be in the playoffs yourself.

So yeah, at a minimum I expect a wildcard win.

To me, a wildcard loss would be a serious regression, and a need for Jerry to really examine the culture and direction of the team.

Exactly..............you get beat by a .500 Bucs team with a 50 yr old QB in the playoffs.................wow, no words

Dont see how you bring fat Mike back after an embarrassing loss like that,
