Can Ogeltree play the slot?

I love the pick of Dez yesterday in the draft. I personally would love to see Crayton traded today because I don't think he brings much to the table. Crayton is a average receiver at best. He has good hands but has no speed or wiggle and scares no one.

My question is do you think Ogeltree could fill his spot? I know Ogeltree is very fast 4.32 speed. But does he have the size you want in a slot recievier?

Can O-tree play the slot?

Does he have the size you want in a slot receiver? How many teams have you seen putting big guys in the slot? A slot receiver can release either direction, making him harder to jam, and quick guys flourish there. See Wes Welker, Steve Smith(NYG), etc.

If Ogletree is going to do any damage this year it will likely be from the slot. Unless Bryant comes along slowly though, I don't see Otree seeing much PT other than 4 wide sets.

I dont see Crayton being traded just yet, I think he feels a role with Dallas and Romo is comfortable with him.

He can but when would he? Miles, Dez and Roy (sadly), will be the WRs on the field.

Crayton is SO gone...bag of chips anyone? Seriously..Tuna will pick him up for a 5th rounder IMO

I think you're understating what Crayton has meant to the Cowboys offense. He's not fast. He's not big. He's not explosive. But he moves the chains. He's been a reliable possession receiver, and Romo trusts him. Romo looks Crayton's way on third down because Crayton routinely beats nickel corners and catches the ball beyond the sticks.

I think he'll be traded, but not because he "brings nothing to the table." There's just no room for him in Dallas.

True. But they have to get Bryant on the field on offense somehow. I think removing Crayton and putting Dez at that 3rd WR spot keeps Dez somewhat involved while not putting too much on his plate.

So where does the great Sam Hurd fit in your scenario? Crayton will stay. Hurd and maybe one of the scabs we have at that position are gonners.

Hurd is used to not playing and being the emergency guy so i think he makes a more ideal 4th/5th WR than Crayton. Crayton would be going from essentially a starter as 3rd WR and starting PR to a guy who will rarely see the field, assuming of course Bryant doesn't flop early. That's tough. He still has value in this league as a good 3rd WR/PR, just not so much here now with the acquisition of Bryant.

Crayton may or may not be traded. But if he stays, how does he get on the field? It won't be in the return game thanks to drafting Dez. It won't be at WR thanks to a improving O-Tree and Dez. If I were Jerry and I get a decent offer for Crayton I take it.
