Oh yeah the Lions looked real good gettin there *** kicked in a blow out land slide and the Vikings looked real good losing the Monday night contest against you

yep they were real tough weren't they?

The three teams we beat are all 6-0 against other teams...

Yeah the Lions looked bad when we blew them out...I think you just answered your own question. WE BLEW OUT A GOOD TEAM! THREE OF THEM!

Right now Washington is a BAD team, they will improve but right now they are terrible and Dallas isn't much better.

We don't play the Seahawks this season and the Packers have looked like world beaters so far this season.

We play the Panthers and Ravens, they are the two toughest oponents we face before the playoffs, both at home.

The Panthers havn't been too good either, losing to the 1-2 Packers and beating the 0-3 Chiefs.

Even the Ravens were blown out by one of the worst teams in the NFL.

I understand your bias, but you have to give credit where it is due, we are a good team and the best in the NFC. Will we win the Super Bowl? Questionable. Will we get there? Questionable. Are we Good enough? Yes.

Put me down as thinking seattle is the best team.

Most certainly do. Of course, you would think im wrong.

You could make a case for any of the three 3-0 teams in the NFC to be the best, I think it is the Eagles, you say it is the Seahawks.

I picked the Eagles because their schedule has been a lot tougher and they are my favorite NFL team. They have also been dominating fairly strong teams.

Why did you pick the Seahawks, aside from the obvious (they arn't in your division).

I wouldn't call detroit, or the giants dominating. The seahawks simply haven't been tested yet, although the saints are an above average team. The seahawks have a better team on paper. If you break it down, then you will see my logic.

Offense:

Qb:

Equal

Both prowbowlers, both having fairly good years. You could make a case for either one.

Rb:

Seahawks

....do I really have to explain this?

Wr:

Eagles

TO has been all that he was hyped up to be. With the depth at WR however, this is closer than it seems.

OL:

Equal

Both lines have been great. These lines go a little under the radar, but they get the job done.

Defense:

DL:

Seahawks

While Philadelphia has led the league in sacks with 14, they have only been for 57 yards, and the seahawks have had 10 sacks of their own for 72. The thing that pulls seattle ahead is the rushing d. They are 3rd in the nfl allowing 214 yards and a 3.5 ypc. Philly on the other hand is middle of the pack with 325 yards allowed and a 5.4 ypc.

LBs:

Equal

If you need an explanation, see above argument. Also to note is phillys horrible pass coverage. So far, they have allowed 62.6 completion percantage for 754 yards, seattle hasn't been stellar, but they have allowed a 57.4 completion percentage for 513 yards.

CBs: see above, also note seattle is 3rd in the league with 5 ints while philly is in the bottom 5 with 1

Safeties: Eagles

see rb....

BTW, don't even try that Points scored reasoning, seattle leads the league in points allowed with 4.6 a game.

QB: Eagles; so far this season, there is only QB in the league who you can compare McNabb with, and that is Manning. Your bias said "equal" and you know it.

HB: Even; Westbrook and Alexander both have the same amount of yards (232) the difference? Alexander has it on 64 carries and Westbrook has it on 42. Alexander has 6 catches this season for 53 yards (8.8 ypc), Westbrook has 15 for 143 (9.5 ypc).

WR: Even; Outside of TO we have nothing, Pinkston only has three catches this season, and Mitchell has developed a case of the dropsies. They have a pair of very good wide receivers. Robinson has had an off year.

TE: Eagles; Easy.

Oline: Seahawks; They have both let up the same ammount of sacks (6) and the Eagles have allowed a better rushing attack, but I can't pick against the likes of Jones and Hutchinson. Also, Andrews is hurt.

Dline: Eagles; If you say Seahawks, you havn't been watching the games.

LB: Eagles; I have liked our LB play this season, and Seattle really has nothing here (Orlando Huff???). It is close.

CB: Seahawks; Ken Irvin? Marcus Trufant? Bobby Taylor? I like our CBs (I am a little "iffy" with our nickle back), but that is arguably the best 3-man group in the NFC.

S: Eagles; Easy.

You could make a strong case for either one, if its this season alone (with all of the three games played) then we agree.

The difference? Sean leagues the league with 5 touchdowns and westbrook has 1. Also take into consideration that alexander has played hurt. You should quit harping on my biases.

WR: Even; Outside of TO we have nothing, Pinkston only has three catches this season, and Mitchell has developed a case of the dropsies. They have a pair of very good wide receivers. Robinson has had an off year.
I thought it would be closer than it appeared, but I figured I'd be the village idiot if I said discounted Owens obvious impact.

TE: Eagles; Easy.
duh...I left this and FB out but if we evauluate one position, then we must do both.

Oline: Seahawks; They have both let up the same ammount of sacks (6) and the Eagles have allowed a better rushing attack, but I can't pick against the likes of Jones and Hutchinson. Also, Andrews is hurt
Seahawks line has gone by reputation. This edge might go to the hawks, but i wouldn't call it a distinct one.

Eagles; If you say Seahawks, you havn't been watching the games.
You obviously haven't seen any Hawks games. look at the facts. The pass rush is very close, but the run d doesn't compare.

les; I have liked our LB play this season, and Seattle really has nothing here (Orlando Huff???). It is close.
This is why I think its even, with the lack of names with the seahawks.

BTW AJM, just so you know, Ive conceded that your team is way ahead of ours in personnell. It'll take a miracle (by a canned fish) for us not to get swept by you.

I made a case that touchdowns do matter, and according to Adam, they don't (in reference to Witten vs Smith before last week) if you are comparing two players.

Me, personally? I think it does matter, getting into the endzone isn't the most important stat, but you need to take it into consideration when comparing two players.

I still think it is even, I used it to gauge the backs, but I didn't mention it.

Alexander has a 3.6 ypc, Westbrook has a 5.5, that matters.

Most people can say that Alexander is the better back, I don't consider that bias, but I do think so far this season, they are equal.

The point of this discussion is which team is better, the 2004 Eagles or the 2004 Seahawks, right?

Yes, and three games doesn't accurately gage that. Alexander has 5 touchdowns, westbrook has 1. Smith has 2 touchdowns (i think), witten has 1. See the difference? Also, a;exander has played hurt for two games. He is still qeustionable, I think that has to be taken into consideration.

Well, we are basing this on three games, you are saying that the Seahawks are a better team right now and I am saying the Eagles are, through three games.

Before last week Smith had two touchdowns (through two games) and Witten had 0.

Alexander has 6 touchdowns and Westbrook has 0, just to be clear.

All through the offseason I though the seahawks were the best in the NFC. You thought the eagles, through three games, neither minds have changed. We seem to agree on a lot of points to be debating this topic....

I hate that they went and signed Owens--it's just not right, this is the first time I've ever had an ounce of respect for them. They did what they had to do and as painful as it is, they get big props from me for it--they gave McNabb that weapon he needed. If they're going, this is the year and that aquisistion is going to be the cause of it.

And on the flip side--if they bomb and fall flat on their faces, Ownes could be the cause of that too. :D
