Can Pollard replace Zeke like Dak replaced Romo because it was working?

Tony lost his job due to age and injury, not because of money. If he was young and healthy, then they would've eventually paid him because he is a superior player to Dak.

Can we see Pollard in some real games before we decide to throw one of, if not the best player on our team away?

part of me feels like this is just a preseason story, we gotta remember jerry likes
Competition and he likes to negotiate as much as he likes watching his team.

Having said that what if this stretches into the regular season and pollard looks good and we don’t wanna see that frumpy diva ever again?

Doesnt work like that. This is preseason, not the regular season. And where Pollard may fall short is when he gets 300 carries. And how effective can he be against good defenses on a consistent basis.

If there is on thing Zeke can do, its stay healthy and he is tough and durable.

IF we can sign Zeke idiot at a reasonable price, this team is better off with both guys.

if zeke has been made an offer that would make him the second highest paid RB and he wont sign in then im good going with polllard and trading zeke....we have a few more guys on the roster too, just not as good, and zeke is burning his bridges with how this is being handled.

I will miss the production of zeke, but not the antics and fear of another suspension.

People underestimate what Zeke can do. Only a half full of backs are even capable of touching the ball 30 times a game while leaving some in the tank to close games.

Also...last night was a bit different but Pollard was going against backups the first two games, a bit dramatic to crown him based on that considering what Zeke has already showed us in 3 seasons.

It’s preseason. 5 preseason drives, 3 of which were against backups does not mean much when comparing a player to an all star.

When zeke gets back he’s the starter

No question however pollard means zeke needs to carry the ball 280 times at best this season no more 350+

Pollard is a gem but he is not Zeke, but he doesn't have to be. I think we will be just fine running a committee at RB and not miss a beat. As Moose said in the telecast last night, Zeke has no leverage in this situation and I agree with him. This is not another Emmitt Smith scenario. The guy has 2 years on his contract and is holding this team hostage. I am ready to move forward without this clown, who Jerry has had his back since day 1. Who is being disrespectful?

As much as I agree with a lot of the pro-Pollard sentiment, it’s important to remember just what Zeke brings to the table. Aside from being the league leading rusher, he’s a great receiver out of the backfield, and is probably one of the best blocking backs in the league(he reminds me of a young Frank Gore). Pollard is good, he just isn’t as good as Zeke. When you consider Elliots’ importance to this offense, and how badly Dak needs him, I think JJ should do everything in his power to get him signed.

If Romo was at his peak, Dak wouldn't have replaced him. Romo was an injury waiting to happen.

I personally think at some point Pollard could be a starting RB for us but that point is not now. The kid did even start playing RB until he got to college as he was a two way player in high school at WR and CB. Yes the kid is talented enough to be a every down back but handling the load is a totally different subject. Not only can Zeke carry the load but he is the best in the NFL at doing so,

What excites me about Pollard has always been how he would compliment Zeke as an RB and match up problems he could cause when in the game with Zeke. Maybe in 2 or 3 years we could talk about Pollard taking over for Zeke but not now.

Pollard is not Elliot. He is running between tackle well. But they were saying he is a outside runner but I saw last night when he gets the edge if there was a defender there that he stops instead of making a cut the way Elliot will.

So you started this just to get a jab in?
You could have left that part out, and it would have more credibility as a legit thread / discussion.

But this tells me what your agenda is.
