Don't know the contract numbers but it seems the Raiders already have a pretty penny tied up in the RB position.

Fargas - just resigned to what looks like a good bit of money

Rhodes - got a big FA contract last year

Jordon - got a pretty decent contract two years ago.

Don't know if anyone knows what their cap is and what would be the cost of cutting either Jordan or Rhodes, but 4 RB's with big contracts looks like a lot.

Most likely, McFadden will go to the Jets. Unless someone trades up for him.

Can we afford McFadden?

I personally would like to see us trade into the midteens and pick one of the top corners.

I see the Jets taking Gholston. Mangini is a defensive guy trying to build his 3-4. Currently they have:

Pace
Harris - 2nd year guy from Michigan
Barton - I think that's his name

lots of RB's in this draft, not a whole lot of LB's who can play the 3-4, plus they have Jones/Washington, just add someone like Ray Rice and they are set.

FYI, the #3 overall pick in '06 and '07 had a first year cap hit of $2.6 and $2.7 million respectively.

I just heard today that their is no way the Jets are taking DMac take it for what it's worth. So now it means we are up to the Pats and pick #7 LOL.

There has to be a line, someplace/somewhere, on Dmac going all S. Jackson and falling to Dallas at 22, doesn't there? :laugh2:

What if the Patriots get McFadden? It would be freaking ridiculous and I would call for the guillotine on Roger Goodell for not stripping them of both picks...

al davis has always cry poor about how he was cheated out of billions of dollars by returning to the dump formerly know as the alameda country stadium, which now has a revolving door as far as name are concerned, but if the raiders are really short on cash, then where does he get the money to sign those obscene contracts?

Raiders apparently have a lot of cap money. It makes sense cause they don't have that many good players to spend their money on.

Not ony another McFadden thread, a McFadden thread about the Raiders no less.

it is much more fun to pretend that teams have no ability to manage their cap.

The way I figure it, Al Davis spent a ton of money this offseason and I don't think he is looking forward to signing another top 5 pick after having to shell a whole lot of dough for Russell last season. So, I think Al Davis would take our two 1st's and maybe Spears for that #4 pick. If I were Al and I'm trying to not be biased but I would definitely take that, your not gonna get 2 first rounders this year from anyone else plus a former 1st round pick. And they need DL help anyways, they can use those 2 1st's for other needs, it just works out so well.

Byran Thomas is their other OLB.

I wrote about this previously, with all the cash spent of Free Agents, the cash up front, Russell's contract as the #1 last year. I dont see how they can come back and pay that 4th overall pick. To me it seems they may be getting cash strapped, we'll see, but I think this is were Dallas takes the bite from that apple Al Davis is dangling!!! They deal down in the draft and we move up.

Actually, I'd like to see how that works out for them w/ Maroney & D-Mc sharing time w/ their passing game as their #1 option. The 7th overall pick would get how many touches under that scenario? OR Maroney on trading block and what would the Pats want for him (how about for the 28th overall in 2008)? ;)
