Can Romo throw the long bomb type passes?

Okay, I remember everyone saying that Montana didn't have arm strength, nor did Bart Starr, Kenny Stabler, even Roger Staubach...if you win, and win the big one...will anyone really care?

Those guys might not have had cannons but they had Hall of Fame intangibles (except Stabler) and played under legendary head coaches, with a supporting cast featuring HOF'ers at every position..

Captain America, have you forgotten that your hero, Roger Staubach, was not drafted until the tenth round, and not the first one drafted in that round? Staubach is one of my favorite players, but there were questions about him, and not merely about his military obligation.

Romo has a different sort of delivery. He sort of slings the ball out.

Not many of today's QB have that kind of delivery, but there have been some successful ones in the past.

Some fans might find the movement distracting/disconcerting and assume that he doesn't get enough on the ball. But he does.

And what it lacks in velocity is more than made up in moxie.

Brady doesn't have a big arm, which is why he fell to the 6th round.

I don't believe Manning and Roethlesberger's arm's are much more than adequate. Neither one of those QB's are throwing 15 yard sideline outs.

If there is one common trait that all the best QB's have its accuracy and quick decision making skills. Its exponentially more important than arm strength, but its hard to gauge empirically .
 I couldn't have said it better myself.

Come on.

Staubach was the Heisman Trophy Winner his JUNIOR year at NAVY, for goodness sakes. He ended up being the ONLY QB to win the Heisman and be elected to the HOF. To use Roger's name in this disussion about Tony Romo is crazy.

The military commitment is the only thing that knocked Staubach down that far in the draft. Tex took a flyer on him in the 10th and it paid off big-time.

Staubach was FAR more than a normal 10th round pick.

I don't remember criticizing any of your college choices...

Hey, it's all good.
I went to Arizona State for undergrad. Yes, on purpose.

I was all set to go to Arizona State, scholarship and all, but some family stuff happened and I ended up having to stay at UTEP. It's cool though, I like it.

I see some Romo / Brady comparisons .. First let me finish laughing............ Ok. Wait....... Ok ok. Sorry.. Cant stop... laughing.....:laugh2:

If you want to see what Romo is right now.. Look no further than Kelly Holcomb.
