I don't like the 3 year contract and he looks like a marginal player that is worse then what we had last year.

You could've probably gave Revis a 1 year deal and now Jason McCourty is on the open market.

He and Carr have been opposites the past two years. Carroll played well in 2015 and not so well last year. The staff wanted him after the 2015 season, so it appears they think he fits what they want to do well for the amount the team was willing to pay on a free agent.

I think he's just a stop gap. The team intended to draft corners in this corner-rich draft and did, so Carroll probably starts this year if he can recover his 2015 form well enough and then Awusie pushes him out of the role next year, much like Lewis is expected to push Scandrick out in the slot.

Frankly, if Scandrick regains his form, he'll probably be the better option to start with Carroll fighting Brown for the other starting spot, but considering we gave Carroll a three-year deal, it appears we expect him to start at one of the outside spots.

I know I didn't say anything to sell Carroll, but I honestly can't. If he plays like he did last year and is the best we have to start, we're probably in trouble. I do think we plan to go to more zone coverage, though, so that should make it easier for any of these corners to be adequate ... if the safety play is solid.

How much of his money is guaranteed?

But I will bet he is starting in September.

Yeah, I think him and Scandrick will start. But I bet Brown, Lewis, Awuzie, is a an actual legitimate battle in training camp to see who is the 3rd CB on the field. I think the first two are locked in, regardless of what actually happens in training camp.

He will start and play this season and Dallas will figure out that they made a mistake in signing him. He will be released before next free agency

I think Carroll is going to get the Alfred Morris experience. After the draft the team no longer needs you to fill a significant role.

It's dumb to have free agency before the draft.

That's akin to rooting for an Indian tribe to catch a European disease and wipe out the whole tribe...go figure although.

He's a veteran, which is needed. Too many young guys in the secondary would lead to a disaster. Whether he's a good/great player, doesn't matter to me. He actually has experience in the league, has gone up against big time receivers.

As for Revis, with how he's acting in FA, he will want more than what he is worth for a single year. That's a no and most likely a good reason no one has signed him outside of declining play.

Exactly. Do I want him as my 1st or 2nd corner, the role he fulfilled for Philly? Absolutely not. As my 4th or 5th corner and insurance in case of a catastrophe? Yeah, I love that scenario.

Nolan Carroll came cheap really cheap for CB. Likely its just 1 year deal for $4mill. Also his predecessor Carr once went 36 consecutive games without an interception (that's 3 seasons bruh).
