I keep reading that if Dallas cuts T.O. they will only save 600,000 against the cap in 2009. Firstly, is that an accurate figure?
Also, I thought that if a player is cut after June 1st then his salary cap hit can be spread over the next two seasons (for T.O., that's seasons 2009 and 2010 if cut this offseason). So does that in fact apply to T.O.'s contract if he was cut after June 1st this offseason?
And lastly, isn't 2010 supposedly an un-capped year, and if so, then wouldn't allocating half of T.O.'s cap hit into 2010 -- if it's possible -- make the best sense, justifying cutting him after June 1st if the intent is to cut him this offseason after all?
