I agree the cowboys need to amp up Austin more for this game and stop trotting brown out onto the field.

Brown and Austin play for different reasons. Brown is a receiver who blocks exceptionally well, and Austin is a speed/gimmick guy. They aren't interchangeable, and who plays depends on what the team is trying to do.

Other than that, I hope we see more of Austin this week. That guy has some killer speed, he proved that against the Seasquawks.

I really despise the jet sweep. just stick with running the ball downhill please. Hit him with a screen or something but the jet sweep in the nfl is just ineffective a majority of the time.

I wish they would figure out how to use all the offensive weapons at their disposal consistently. Too many guys disappear from week to week. Not sure if that's by design or what but it's frustrating to see a player go for 200 yards or catch 3 td's and then the next week get zip. For pete sake your guys are pros. Figure it out.

It's about match ups and personnel.

Schemes do not always work twice in a row.

Opponents are different and they adjust to stop what you like to do.

I was watching a replay of the Seahawks game.

Tavon did some damage there.

The biggest was his 80 yd. punt return in the 2nd Qt which was called back by penalty.

But he caught a 1st down .

did his jet sweep..

And caught I believe a couple of other passes..short ones.

But not having seen him all year..

he looks REALLY good.

I like him as a WR.

So what do you guys expect from him?

We have not had any speed on the field except Cooper.

Can Linehan do this?

Use Tavon Austin as more than a gadgets?

I think much of that has to do with the different personnel and schemes on the various defenses. You have to go at the Achilles Heel of each opponent, not just go by what play worked best last game.

I hope he gets a chance to make some plays but his mind needs to focus on doing the job not on getting revenge. Sometimes trying to do too much can cause big mistakes, just carry out your assignments and everything else takes care of itself

This 100%. It takes me back to 2014 (I think) when Murray had gotten careless with the ball trying to do too much and he fumbled. There was a clip of Garrett chewing out the RBs coach telling him to tell Murray that that is OUR ball not HIS ball. That has to be the focus of this whole team. This is OUR time not YOUR time. Handle your business.

Needless to say it was not one of my favorite plays.

Dallas will use Austin off the fake jet sweep and it serves the purpose of freezing the pursuit to that side. Cowboys do not actually hand it off that often on that play.

1. Tavon does very little overall, gets a minor ding, barely plays after: 75%
2. Tavon has an impact on the day and burns his old team for some big plays: 10%

didnt that first NYG game first play of the game BOMB to Austin? was that jet sweep cant remember, hes hardly run one of those hes been out almost the entire year..im betting he doesnt run any , he will solely be returner or a decoy at WR,hes still hurt, he was limping horribly in the 4th qtr, he doesnt have a lot to offer..id use him on returns a lot and sure a decoy, if we feel that way other teams will like TA in on offense go chase him on fake sweep with a bomb to Amari )

TBH, I have never been an Austin fan. He is fast as hell but injured after every sneeze. I personally believe he is overrated for an overall WR. It’s just not gonna happen with him and I honestly felt that way from the start.
