In the middle of a bye week Dallas is sitting at 3-4. Looking at this team and I'm surprised at how healthy the players are. With the exception of Travis Frederick, Tavon Austin, we should be seeing a fully healthy squad coming out of the bye week. On top of that, we’ve added a new weapon in the passing game with Amari Cooper. If Cooper can create 4 more points per game on offense by either making plays or drawing more defensive attention that opens up space for other receivers and the run game, this team can definitely finish 7-2 in these last 9 games as long as the defense continues to play solid. We’d be sitting at 10-6, which will more than likely get us into the playoffs and more than likely taking the NFC East.

WEEK 9 – Titans @ Cowboys (W)
WEEK 10 – Cowboys @ Eagles (L)
WEEK 11- Cowboys @ Atlanta (W)
WEEK 12 – Commanders @ Cowboys (W)
WEEK 13 – Saints @ Cowboys (L)
WEEK 14 – Eagles @ Cowboys (W)
WEEK 15 – Cowboys @ Colts (W)
WEEK 16 – Buccaneers @ Cowboys (W)
WEEK 17 – Cowboys @ Giants (W)

I understand the skepticism that this team can’t play consistently well on offense given what we have seen the first half of this season. But, with adding Cooper, I believe he can add just enough to get this offense going earlier in games by getting more first downs early on and some points.

Finishing 10-6 is very possible and I’m looking forward to the second half of the season.

The simple fact that the Washington Commanders lead the division with a 4-2 record is a big reason that we should in no way be afraid to try and win this division. I don't know about you, but I don't see the Commanders as a scary team and I definitely don't see them running away with it. If we can start winning on the road we can absolutely win the East. I'd say 9 wins gets us a shot at the East with 10 doing it for sure.

I can reasonably see us being able to win every one of those games.

I can also reasonably see us losing every one of them though, too.

Even that out, we'll end up with 7-8 wins on the season.

An average team is inconsistent - and that's exactly what the Cowboys are.

I was looking at the schedule earlier, as well as the rest of the NFCE teams.

Was thinking of starting a thread similar to this. But decided with the bye week, I would wait until after they all play this weekend.
But thanks for doing this. I didn't go into the schedules like I planned, as I said, was going to give it another game.

We all have basically the same schedules left. With a lot of division games to go for all teams.

I wanted to see what fans opinions were, if they could be truly unbiased to being over positive or over negative for most people. What impact Cooper may have for us.

Washington is at NY this week, and Philly plays Jax in London.
If Eagles lose, and if NY can pull off an upset, we are right back in that race for 1st place. Right now we basically have 2 games to catch up to on Washington, but we have them at home later. That tie may help or hurt that they have.

I will still wait until after this week to see what happens. Then may wait until after we play the Eagles, see how we look, and where we stand.
It will be tough road ahead no matter what though.

I look at us as an above average team that is inconsistent and playing like an under average team.
It can be corrected. But so much of it is on the coaches and on Dak. And the truck record since mid last season, shows it nor being very good.

Maybe this season flips as last season didi, but in the opposite way, and we get on a win streak. Not holding my breath though.
Adding Cooper should help though don't like giving up that 1st round pick. Just will need to wait to see.

And that may not really happen until we play at Philly, as a home game against the Titans, may not be the way they play on the road, as we have seen.
so to me a road game against the division champs is the test, for Dak and the offense as well as our D against what can be a very good offense.

Sticking with my 6-10 prediction. I would favor them against the Titans and Giants, all others are either even (Colts) or underdogs. They normally come out of byes half asleep, so I can see them losing to the Titans.

No.

I think were going to beat tennesee at home. I think cooper will have a good game and everyone will be excited about the move.

However the true test will come the two weeks after. We've been bad on offense on the road. Will cooper help? Will the coaching staff stop playing scared on the road, again well see.

Regardless if you think dak can get cooper the ball. Just his presence gives zeke more running lanes and beasley more opportunities as well. Like dez was, cooper is a guy you have to double with a safety at times. Unlike dez cooper is a guy that can take a simple slant and take it to the house, or run past a defender 1 on 1 and do that same thing.

We’re going to need an offense which can put up some points especially on the road.

Wow! Just wow!

I don't know. I think they are capable but until they show consistency in their play it will continue to be questionable if they can.

The defense is coming together and Cooper will have a much bigger impact on the offense than this team expects, so an improved second half is definitely likely.

Seems to me the team thinks this guy is going to save us. So how can he have a bigger impact than that?

I think 9 wins could win the division...none of these 3 teams are gonna win 11-12 games.
So with that, no wild card is going to come out of the east. As always, conference games are going to be huge

The schedule gets tougher with teams that can score more points and put more pressure on the offense to score.

The offense, does it have just one problem and was that the lack of a #1WR? He is an upgrade, he does run good routes and can get separation but can the OL buy enough time for the QB to find him? Was this offense that player away?

This last half of the season, after the Tiny Titans, will be all on the pass game. They've not played an O above 18 and will face some top 10 ones and TB is ranked #1 right now.

Ya see, this is where I do not fault the brain trust for doing what they could to upgrade the pass game and if they want a pass catching TE to add to that, go for it. They have to do what they can do right now.

There's is no tanking, not for this team. They gave up a better draft position to beat PHL last season and barely did that but they did not give up. There are expectations of the ticket buyers and fans from all over and that is that their team try their best to win now.

Can this QB generate enough offense to get at least into the high 20's? Because that's what it's going to take, if not more. Can this D play as well against much better O's? Can this coaching staff not hamstring their own team? Answer those 3 and I can better answer the OP's question.

Right now, this team looks just like their record.

......best thing I can take from this, is that we dont have an Juggernaut in the Div. The East is open to whoever plans better to get it. Dallas needs to fix the O, no bones about it. Cooper could be that huge puzzle that's missing.

We have to wait N see.

Noted, let's revisit issue later...

Yep, still a lot of ball to play. And just as big a puzzle are the Eagles. I keep waiting for them to wake up. But there's no assurance that will happen and we played the Skins even on their own playground. Hell, I wouldn't pick any of the other East teams to beat the Giants, including the Cowboys. This is a long was from over.
