We have seen Free at G with Parnell at RT. I think this is the best move because, while Free is the better RT, Tony does better with pressure from the right side then he does with interior pressure.
I would like to see Parnell in the lineup. He'll make a few mistakes due to lack of game experience, but he has the ability to really blow people off the ball in the running game. He didn't play much during preseason due to a hamstring issue, but when he did he was driving defenders 5+ yards down-field.
Free was the culprit in more than 1 failed run attempt against the Lions.
They have modified the OL scheme to help Free this season. They have the RG keep a closer than normal spacing to Free off the snap. This prevents the DE from beating Free to the inside and allows Free to over-set to the outside. This requires the Center to help the RG much more often than the LG. It increases the degree of difficulty on LG Leary and LT Smith because they're isolated. The result is that people
believe that Free is playing great and that Smith and Leary are struggling.
