Can Ware do a Tom Brady?

I remember Tom Brady not wanting to make being the top paid QB in the NFL a necessity after winning his third Super Bowl. He said he makes great money and didn't want to bind the Patriots hands by not leaving money to sign other free agents, as well as their own at the time. Anyone think Ware is capable of the same? Just your thoughts? Man, he is such a 'class guy', and IMO, the face of the franchise besides Romo.

Out of all people in this team I could see him doing it, especially if JJ looks into Ray Ray.

I could see Ware doing that but he deserves a payday.

What we need to do is weed out the overpaid lames like Roy Williams(SS).

He is that kind of guy I believe... quality football player, quality human being

nonetheless... Demarcus is gonna get the money

Hamlin should give his check from last year back. And Bobby Carpenter should be paying the Cowboys.

Ware deserves a monster deel more than any player I've ever met, but I'm sure both parties will walk away from this deal smiling.

We need to pay him period. It's just not a good idea expecting your best defensive player and soon to be the face of the franchise to take some kinda discount. I think jerry over the years has acted in good faith when it comes to taking care of his top players. If ware wants to take a little less to get a ray lewis in here I'm fine with that, but we as fans shouldn't expect it or be upset if he dosent.

Ware seems to be the type that there won't be any negotiations - he'll probably just take the first offer Jerry gives him.

So instead of a $100 million he signs for what? $50-$60-$75million?? These guys are over paid to begin with but I concur, taking less for the team reveals heart and motives. Still what's best for the team may not be best for Demarcus Ware.

Id rather give him the money and in the end find out he's similar to Emmitt and Troy, who both reworked their respective contracts in the past to help accommodate this team. If anything, Brady, was just trying to mimic what 2 of our former stars had already done. And coincidentally, mimic what basically the last NFL Dynasty before the Patriots did. The Patriots actually mimicking us? Now that's some flattery! And pretty much what that move did.

JMO, but if cut the dead weight there would be plenty of money for Ware and Ray Lewis.

Sign Ware to a LONG term contract. That way a large signing bonus can be given and spread out over many many years. I'm talking about an 10 year contract. He is 26 now. That will make him a Cowboy for life and help spread a giant ($30-$40M) signing bonus.

co sign.
i completely agree with you. took the words right out my mouth

JW..but can you hand out 8+ yr contracts any more? I can't remember the last time I saw one..The highest I've seen is 7.

I'd like Ware to get a 7yr 65 million dollar deal with a huge signing bonus and 40 mil guarenteed.

You cannot spread signing bonuses over 10 years. I am sure Adam could answer far better than I; however, especially with the uncapped year looming next year, you can only pro-rate signing bonuses over a certain period of time.

Humility has its limits. Why should he accept less than the going rate when some of his teammates--who possess a fraction of his overall talent--are getting paid top dollar?

If I were Ware, I'd get my M. O. N. E. Y. and to hell with Jerry Jones...

Ya I wouldn't blame him..I mean he is a human being after all...sometimes...

:hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

If MB3 doesn't stay healthy we should get a refund on him also.

It' funny that none of us would take less money but if it's someone else, we're all for it. NO he should not take a pay cut!

If I'm Hamlin I feel guilty and give money back..

If I'm Ware I take all of Hamlins money.
