we have to rebuild the Secondary in next years Draft and Free Agency. I just want to go on record and say it's got to be a very high priority. I do smile knowing we picked up Tyron Smith, Bill Nagy and have a young Doug Free and Costa. I like where our OL is headed. I like our young Receivers and Runningbacks. I think we need a few playmakers in the secondary.

Everything considered I was extremely happy with the way the secondary played last night.

But yes we need to add some talent.

Also im going to throw this out there, I may change my mind after I see more, but i'd like to give Alan Ball a contract extension.

I'd hate to lose him next year.

The secondary gave up some TD's but they didn't miss the guy on the blocked punt. They also didn't fumble and throw an INT either. They actually played alright being the 3rd and 4th cb's. I gotta give props to Jenkins because he would not quit.

The only thing we should be extending to Alan Ball is a pink slip. He's been a good 7th round pick, but a contract extension? PLEASE. He is a jag to the fullest extent.

No kidding.

Get me more passrush. I'll take Courtney Upshaw. Thank you. :)

You should be able to replace 4th and 5th corners with mid to low round picks.

This may be a small observation, but would a DB that is over 6'0" kill us? All of our DB's except one is 5' 10". Most teams are going after bigger taller receivers. I have always felt our height is one of our weaknesses.

Time to draft a QB to groom.

Bingo! If a top notch prospect falls into our laps we better take him.

Craig

I thought thats what we are doing with McGee ?

What if we could get Andrew Luck how long would you groom him behind Romo ?

The secondary played pretty well, but I will say that we have a softness in the middle. Sanchez was not particularly accurate last night, I think a better QB may very well outright embarrass us but they certainly played with passion last night.

IMO, McGee will be a decent backup, but I just don't see starter (much less great) material there.

We need a bonafide field general.

I was pleasantly surprised with the secondary. McCann got picked on, obviously, but played as well as we could have expected him to. The upgrade when Jenkins returned though was pretty clear.

Ball was solid, too. He didn't light the world on fire, but held his own and made a couple nice plays.

I think we will add to it but I will also say when the top 3 guys are out of the lineup you will have trouble back there. I thought when Jenkins and Scandrick were in the game the defense looked pretty darn good as Jenkins ran into some injury problem then Scandrick went down we struggled but still managed to make plays as a defense.

He played a really really good game last night and as a corner for us he has been a good player.

His play last night was invaluable with all of our injuries.

I'd like to keep that in our back pocket.

It looked like it was just blown assignments more than anything up the middle.

If Sean Lee can be consistent in coverage than the middle of our defense will be a lot better.

Hopefully B.Carter can do something in that department this year as well.

F.Y.I. Allan Ball didn't play bad at all. I think the Cowboys should sign Mario Butler. As far as conerbacks, Jerry Jones has been cheap on getting us one, and he's always trying to do that in house **** which pisses me off. Since he wanted to do in house, Scandrick is hurt now, after receiving a contract. *** Jerry. :banghead: You decide not to let Newman go to get Nnamdi. *** Jerry. :banghead: He get rid of Mario Butler to put him on Practice Squad. *** Jerry.:banghead: J. Hanson got cut by the Iggles, and Cowboys didn't sign him. *** Jerry. :banghead:

Off subject.:bang2:
Didn't try to move up to get Cam Newton, *** Jerry. Want to hold on to Tony "Fumble!" Romo. *** Jerry. Didn't get a valueable backup for Tony "Fumble" Romo. *** Jerry.:banghead: Didn't Get Carlos Rogers when we had a chance. *** Jerry. Didn't trade 6th Rd. Draft pick :bang2: for Taylor Mays. *** Jerry.

The 2012 draft looks good for CB. There at 6 CBs that are possible 1st round picks.

Dre Kirkpatrick
Morris Claiborne
Cliff Harris,
Alfonzo Dennard
Janoris Jenkins
Chase Minnifield

Ray Ray Armstrong appears to be a better safety prospect than anyone from the 2011 draft.
