Can we all agree that Jerald Sowell is for us?

Pretty much Richie Anderson 2.0.

I think this is a lock. We need a lead blocking fullback, and he is pretty good.

I'll be shocked if Sowell, Fabini, and Coleman are not Cowboys by the end of the week. After that it gets interesting.

I don't agree. I'd rather we used our 7th on a FB. Even at vet min the difference in salary between Sowell and a 7th round draft pick is probably the difference between having Longwell and Bryant at K. Give me Longwell and a rookie like Matt Bernstein from Wisconsin.

Sowell will be a BIG upgrade over Lusaka Plite..Bring him in!

A FB like him will a bigger addition to the offense than even an OT in FA.

And we all know where that is on the need list.

Not only does he improve the running game, but he helps protect Bledsoe from blitzes and the one guy that always seems to get free on the pass rush.

And he allows Witten to go out on passing downs more instead of staying in to chip block.

A definite need player and one that is very high on the Cowboys priorities but not one they are publically announcing I'm sure hoping that they can get him before creating a big market for his services.

Fabini was hurt last year, will be 32 in August and has to pass a physical first.

It is also interesting to note they have been free agents for 2 whole weeks and Dallas hasn't signed them yet like the Rams did with Glover. I can see if they're waiting for the CBA,but it seems like there would have been some buzz regarding them.

If any of y'all are expecting us to bring in "Name" FAs will be greatly disappointed. We'll try to fill our needs with good players and then try to draft like hell again.

And honestly, I don't have a problem with that.

And what's with the obsession with the 'skins here of late? Geez....

We can have both. We have plenty of cap room.

More Jets well past their prime. Great.

yeah Richie Anderson was a huge mistake. And that Keyshaw -- he's only the heart and soul of the offense.

We all want young studs at every position -- it just isn't possible sometimes.

Anderson was great? I must have missed all his games as a Cowboy.

If that's true, we are in BIG trouble.

If you didn't like Anderson and don't like Key then I doubt you will like many if any of the FA signing this time.

not great but how can you deny a 69 catch season in '03 was a serious contribution? not his fault he was among the only effective weapons on O that year.

Ridiculous. The full back is not even much of a factor in today's NFL. Most teams us a one back backfield on most offensive plays. You're really talking about goal line and short yardage situations, the average number of snaps a FB would be on the field per game is in single digits. On third down I want Barber in there unless it's 3rd and less than a yard. Barber is a good receiver and he picks up the blitz very well and he's a much bigger running threat. In our offense the main job of a FB is to block and Sowell is just adequate there- he's no piledriver which is what we need. Comparing the impact of a FB, any FB to a good FA OT is, again, ridiculous, especially after what we went through last year.

Sowell is an aging, decent but nothing special player that I doubt we even consider. The Jets cut him with a salary of only 800k and saved only about 400k on the cap which tells you what they think of him.

Sowell is a very good fullback and we need one so to avoid overstating the too many former Jets jargon actually evaluate the player.

Sowell is still a good player at his position and would be a good addition. Two of the best FBs in the league, Mack Strong and Lorenzo Neal, are 34-36 years old. So Sowell at only 32 certainly cant be considered "too old".
