Can we draft an undersize NT and bulk him up?

Is it possible that Parcells could draft an undersized NT and have him bulk up, or
draft a short stocky NT. There are a few great ones out there.
Remember that Casey Hampton is 6'1 325 for the Steelers.
Here are a few 6'3 and under NTs in the NFL, and our own undersized (weight wise)
Jason Ferguson.

Vince Wilfork - 6'2 325

Casey Hampton - 6'1 325

Jamal Williams - 6'3 348

Isaac Sopoago - 6'2 321

Jason Furguson - 6'3 305

Here's a list of some possible NTs that aren't the prototypical NT size in the draft.

Some are short and stocky, and some are tall and skinny.

Broderick Bunkley - 6'3 305 (strongest NT in draft)
Rodrique Wright - 6'5 305
Orien Harris - 6'3 301 (close to Fergusons size)
Barry Cofield - 6'4 304
Babatunde Oshinowo - 6'1 305 (had weight before & 7th strongest in draft)
Titus Adams - 6'3 303 (Fergusons Size)
Steve Fifta - 5'11 323 (short, but second strongest NT in draft)
Le Kevin Smith - 6'2 316
Jesse Mahelona - 6'0 310
Kedrick Golston - 6'4 300

List the ones you would bring in and change their weight.

Mine are
Bunkley - 6'3 315
Wright - 330
Harris - 6'3 325
Oshinowo - 6'1 320
Steve Fifta - 5'11 325

Bunkley and Fifta are interesting picks for me. I think Bunkley is a complete stud and could bulk up to around 315 and maybe 320. I said 315 because you'd hate for him to lose that freakish speed.

And I like Fifta because he's short, but he's is like a bull. He will just push people around, and his height and weight are comparable to a 6'4 340 guy.
Your thoughts:

I'm a UT fan and Rod Wright is not a NT, to me he was the most overated player on the Texas team the last 2 yrs.

I think he'd have been damn nice along with Glover in a 4-3, he's a great kid. I just don't want to depend on him to anchor against an NFL guard and center.

I've got one in my sig mock that should be on your list. Jackson is stubby at 6'0, 308, but he played a lot of NT for Auburn and can hold his own at the point of attack. His lack of measurables will kill his draft stock but he's supposedly a fiery leader who excells against the run. Would love some insight from Auburn fans who've seen him a lot.

I like his size, I'd have to look him up and see what he has. But if he could gain maybe 10 pds of muscle, and still have stamina, that would be fantastic.

I haven't seen much of him either, but he has caught my eye as a later round draft prospect.

Montavious Stanley from Louisville is my personal choice, but Oshinowo is a very good player with experience at the 3-4 NT as well. It really depends where we want to take a DT though because there is a large disparity in the rank of the players you listed.

This kid intrigues me a lot...he is a true run stuffing NT. He is one the more athletic from what I understand and hard working...his knock??? two knee surgery's...one on each knee. If he's there in the 6th...he could be a serious steal, as long as his physical checks out ok.

Well, I guess I'd say that to me, 320lbs is prototypical for a NT. To me, that's very good size for a NT. You start getting into 340 or so and you start losing something in my opinion. It's kind of a trade of thing. 320-330 and 6-1 to 6-3 is perfect IMO.

I dunno about bluk'n someone. But I'm sure that whoever we get if we do get an NT which I think probably likely in the later rounds, we can bulk them up just fine.

Fifita is the guy for me: he did 38 reps on the bench at his pro day;
at 5-11, 323 he is short enough that he can get UNDER any center in
the NFL. And strong enough that NO center can probably move him one on
one. Better yet, he is another Samoan from a VERY traditional family- in other words his motor doesn't quit. This guy is the exact opposite of Watson.

IMO, Orien Harris would be better as a DE in a 3-4. But Bunkley is someone who intrests me. If Lawson and Bunkley were both there at 18, that would be great.
