Can we find competition for Turpin?

I don’t know, but I would say he has more fair catches than he does punt returns
I think that's pretty common in the NFL. Between the hang time punters get, and the fact there seems to be a penalty on more than half the actual efforts to return punts, the fair catch is probably the most common result.

That said, I do think we got less from Turpin this year than in 2022. Probably fewer fumbles too, but my guess is they told him to be very safe and only attempt a return if the opportunity is ideal.

Surely there has to be another guy that's quick/has good speed and can return the ball. I know this is a small issue compared to what we're currently going through, but it's time to focus on other players on this team than Dak, Micah, and the coach!! Please give your thoughts
How about a fire hydrant?
Any warm body that can fair catch can take his place.

I've seen enough evidence here to believe that if Turpin went to a team with real coaching he would most likely excell

He is good for at least two boneheaded decisions per game, that doesn’t include his propensity to fair catch inside the ten. I’m ready to see him leave, it’s not like he is used on offense much.

I don't think he's under contract any longer. Thought we signed him to a 2 year deal 2 years ago.

Yeah, he's called Deuce.
Deuce needs to work on his route running. He always looks like a natural pass catcher, and his quickness and agility should manufacture short scale separation.
A little more stout so a little more useful than Turpin, though Turpin has proven to be an effective deep threat at least.
Maybe Turpin can expand his own route tree. He seems to be our only over the top threat. I don't think Cooks really has the jets anymore.

Turpin came to the league basically as an UDFA. Cowboys have his rights next year, then as a RFA in 2025.
I'm not in a big hurry to see him go. Cheap and useful. First year as a returner. This year a little deep treat. Maybe next year he starts to give us a little Cole Beasley quick separation action.

You want to bet on that? Wait another 10 minutes or so and he will ask another dumb question.

What size shoes does JJ wear? Please give your thoughts.
I'm looking at a umb question^^^^

I don’t have an issue with Turpin he made some plays for us on offense. He had 11 carries for 110 yards and a TD and he caught 12 passes for 127 yards and 3 TDs. Nothing great with his returns but he added a big play threat to our offense.

Coach just needs to incorporate him a bit more

Not only that, he makes decisions to return in situations that end up costing us.
We saw a couple of desperation returns again GB...can't blame Turpin for trying to make a big play when his team is getting smoked.

If anything, I question some of his fair catches inside the 10.
