It depends on how quick he picks up the playbook. He is not going to get practice reps outside of the scout team so you are likely going to need to wait until next offseason.

What I am curious to see is how Dak responds.

Yep. Agree. If we go 13-4...dak won't care at all if he is the "20 to 20 yard guy"....with Lance coming in to "punch it in".

Dak won't care that he goes 18 of 27 , 0 tds and 2 INTs every game.

I meant in terms of how he leads him. Is he going to be a Favre or is he going to be like Rivers?

I don't think Dak is going to take this as a challenge to his spot.
