And not in the scientific way, although if anyone has a sample of his DNA send me some for my lab.

Landry was one of the last player/coach's that I was aware of in the NFL. he was a DB and a coach for the Giants back during the dinosoar days (sorry CBZ40).

The point is can we find that bright young PLAYER (Or maybe a zone poster named Jarv?)who is inovative, young of course and can lead us to 20 straight playoff appearance's...Win us a couple of Superbowls in the process.

Someone mentioned Darren Woodsen the other day, maybe Dat if he retires...Bla, bla, bla...

We are the Dallas Cowboys, lets be inovative like Landry was in his youth. Let other teams scour through the dregs of coach's fired...College coach's looking to move up to the Big time.

Darren, Dat or Troy...Moose, heck even Deion..Emmitt.

Lets try something different.

BP's future is in doubt, if not this year then next year is his last anyhow. Lets show them what MADE us Americas Team...it was inovation and that die hard American spirit.

Roger the Dodger, using computers for drafts...with Roger games were never out of reach. The double shift offensive lines...bringing back the shotgun.

New young coach that mix's up the delware wing T offense with some option plays and run and shoot. No huddle ala Jim Kelly and the Bills. Who are these Cowboys, what will the do next...3-4 D one play, 4-3 the next and Nickle and dime defense on 1st down.

Face it, this is a copycat leauge...Someone comes out with something new and teams copy it when it seems to work.

Lets be the one with something new. We won't see that with re-tread coach's set in their ways.

The game is changing fast and furious, Vince Young last night was maybe a glimps of the future...Yeah, I know no running QB has won a superbowl. how long will that streak last ? Why not us have the 1st one that does.

We are the Dallas Freaking Cowboys. If we keep on going the way we have the past 10 years we will not be Americas team anymore.

We got that title for a reason. When we were given that title it WAS BECAUSE we were different and inovative.

Return to glory by being different..and successful again.

Rant over, back to out normal mundane post.

Let's leave Landry's memory in peace.

Let's forget his abysmal final seasons.

Thank you Eddie, that is my point...Landry's best years were his early years. Give me a young never seen coach (Like Landry was when he took over the Cowboys)...try new things, figure out the way to win in 2-3 years down the line.

Seen all of the stats of running QB's vs pocket passers. I have to admit the pocket guys are on top..now.

How about 3-4 years from now ? What is happening in College will slowly filter up to the NFL. I don't want to see the 1st running QB or new type of offense win in 3 years and then we say that is the route we should go. I want to see US win the superbowl and have other teams say..Wow, we should do what the Cowboys are doing.

I agree wanting a youngish coach...not to young but young enough to not be stale

Was that coaching or lack of talent? How many players were carried over to the Jimmy Johnson Cowboys?

My opinion was that the talent was very thin during Landry's last few years, especially on defense. That falls partly on Landry because he had a big say in who was brought to the team, but it also falls on Schramm and Gil Brandt. Landry got some good use out of the talent he did have on the team. They played in a lot of very close games although they ended up on the losing end of too many of them. Offensively, what really could he do with Peuller as the QB? He is the only coach that knew how to utilize Herschel Walker. I actually don't give him credit for that because it should be common sense to just feed Walker the ball. The Vikes were just a bnuch of dumb bums for not using Walker enough.
