I think the Giants would have to lose out and San Francisco would have to lose 2 of 3 with both Detroit and St. Louis on their schedule.

If we're a top 6 team in the NFC at 8-8, then we'd absolutely deserve to be in the playoffs.

According to this site, the Cowboys have only a 3% chance of making the playoffs if they go 0-3 the rest of the way.

However, if they beat the Saints this week, it predicts their odds of not making the playoffs to be only 14%.

Mathematically it is possible, but virtually no chance. I think somebody posted that we have less than 1% chance to make the playoffs at 8-8.

No, it just means that there are too many bad NFL teams and maybe the NFL allows too many teams to be in the playoff hunt to begin with.
