Can we lure Bill Cowher to Dallas?

Bill Cowher would take the position if offered, but is he overrated? If Dallas is going to go with a retread HC, I prefer Lovie Smith who didn't get a fair shake in Chicago. I most prefer a young college coach like Bobby Shaw who looks like he can instill discipline into this team.

If you heard Cowher talking this past weekend after the Cowboys loss - you would know and understand there is absolutely no chance in hell Cowher would ever come here. Not gonna happen.

............and that 's a good thing.

He doesn't like Jerry & he doesn't need the money.

I am sure he would decline an interview if they even asked.

If and it's a HUGE IF....we could lure Bill Cowher out of retirement, agree or disagree, that this would be the guy to turn around the comedic cowbags?? What are the odds?? Less than 5%?? He's a Jimmah type and would lure quality free agents as well...

I haven't read any responses by my guess is that Cowher has limited respect for what Jones does as a GM and man running the team at this time and he's pass in 5 seconds. I think he'd rather go somewhere like Houston than here but overall he likes being with family and being in studio.

I think that if you posted those stats without anybody knowing who those stats belonged to, everybody would take that type of history of success.

Cowher doesn't think the Cowboys management model leads to success. So he would never sign up for it.

I Agree

Thankfully, there's very little chance of coaxing Bill Cowher out of retirement to work for the Cowboys. That would be one of the most depressing hires I could imagine, honestly.

I wanna say yes because Cowher would be a great coach here, but I cant because Jerry would not let him do his own thing. Bill would need free reign on this team and sorry that is not going to happen as long as Jerry is GM.

I am afraid that is going to be the case with any real coach out there so.... unfortunately all we have to hope for is to strike oil with a has-been headcoach

I listen to a lot of NFL radio with Pat Kirwin in the afternoon, and every once in a while, someone will call in and ask about possibly Cowher coming back to coaching, and he says it won't happen. Says he works with Cowher (with his ties to CBS), and they talk every week, and every time the subject comes up, Cowher says he's happy where he is, and has other things he wants to do.

Not really. nice stats but I for one would ask 'when'?

7-10 years out of football is 2 years assimilation. No thanks.

Plus he's a motivator more than anything and we got our culture here. You get an owie and you sit out for 4-6 weeks.

Everyone said the same thing about Parcells, would never work for JJ, etc. BP was the biggest control freaks ever, and he.s never said a negative thing about Jones.
This 'so and so wont work for jerry' nonsense has to be one of the biggest myths around here.

With all due respect to Cowher, I vote for a good old Texan, Lovie Smith...

No, unless Jerry and family step completely away.

And what is he compared to what we have now? All Universe?

Quite honestly, I don't think he is an upgrade over Garrett, and I'm not even totally sold that Garrett can be a successful head coach.

I would definitely want him if he was wiling to work with Jerry....but I'd say there's like a 5% chance of that happening at best
