Can we really stop the eagles run game?

It will be very hard. They NEVER get called for holding. 50 carries tonight ....FIFTY...did they get any holding calls on a running play ? We get a holding call literally every time we pancake a defender. The call on McGovern (in the Packer game), could have been called on the Eagles at least 4 times tonight. Not a one.

I don’t think so. They iced the first game against us and never threw the ball on that final TD drive. Our run defense is bottom 5 in the league.

I have serious doubts about us stopping any good running team like the Eagles or the 49ers or even the Titans with Henry.

Stopping a run option team is about discipline. Dan Quinn has 4 weeks to hammer that into the heads of his defenders. "Do your job and trust that your teammate will do his.." If the DTs hold up in the middle and the ends set the edge and the linebackers fill where they're supposed to there is nowhere for them to run. Guys getting out of their lanes trying to go hero is what leads to a defense being gashed in the run game. Or of course just getting put on their backs. I don't think a lot of our guys get put on their backs but at times a lot of them fail to maintain their responsible gaps. Do that and the Eagles will stomp you. If everyone plays his responsibility, you keep the run in check and force the Eagles to beat you through the air and it's game over..

They will lose two out of three TEN NY and DAL.

LOL.

People said the same thing last week............. They will lose 2 out of their next three before facing us - GB, Tenn, NY.

All these predictions and they just keep winning. Might be time to acknowledge the reality here. They are good. Really good.

It's not just RPOs here. They can line up and grind a team into the turf just straight running at them.

I don't think we have the horses at DT or the scheme at this point to hold up to a good running O. In those kinds of games, Dak and the offense have to be sharp and not fall behind early and when we do get these types of teams into passing situations, the pass rush has to feast. If we get into a grind it out game or we fall behind and are trying to play catch up, we are going to struggle IMO.

I don’t see it. We can still win but we have to score a lot.

Last time Dallas played the Eagles their run game was very average. I think Dallas and Philly are very similar teams and any game between them will be a tossup. I don't know why everyone is panicking after the Eagles beat the Pack by 7. They had looked very average the last few weeks.
