Can we really stop the eagles run game?

It's not just RPOs here. They can line up and grind a team into the turf just straight running at them.

I don't think we have the horses at DT or the scheme at this point to hold up to a good running O. In those kinds of games, Dak and the offense have to be sharp and not fall behind early and when we do get these types of teams into passing situations, the pass rush has to feast. If we get into a grind it out game or we fall behind and are trying to play catch up, we are going to struggle IMO.

Maybe they can.. but I think you're wrong about our DTs. They have been solid against the run most of the year. The real damage has generally been done on the edges. But I do agree with you that the Eagles are a good team.. but we've seen what happens to their offense when a defense CAN stop them from running.. The Commandos put them in a meat grinder. We know they are good and what they are good at. Stopping them isn't easy .. but it can be done. The good news for the Cowboys is that they now have a QB who can get them more than 180 yards passing and who isn't likely to turn it over 3 times given that he's only had 4 or 5 three turnover games in his career. Pair Dak with a strong running game and the Cowboys are going to be really hard to stop. Should be a fun game Christman Eve.. My only worry is Moore's tendency to come out pass happy in big games. I really hope he's learned his lesson or if he hasn't that McCarthy keeps screaming "run the ball" into the headset the entire first quarter.

We did well against it last time, Packers have probably the worst run defense I’ve ever seen. I think our issues were focus, not ability.

The Packers are the worst tacklers I have seen this year. They missed so many tackles against the Eagles.

Gonna be hard for them to continue running when we’re up on them, they ain’t beating us at home!

What's great about the Cowboys is they are taking on a more and more physical persona every week. They put the hurt on the Giants.. Like Zack Martin said, having Zeke back brings a physicality to the offense that is undeniable. I laughed every time one of the Giants defenders stayed on the ground after tackling him. That dude is just a load and a half!!!

I think it can be done, but requires a lot of discipline, Wash has better talent at DL than us.
You can not stop their HB in 1st and 2nd and then have Hurts going for 26 in 3rd, like GB did tonight, that will deflate the defense.
They are built to dictate the game, we have to flip it on them, we need to dictate them the game. Run hard and consistenly, have 8 to 10 minute drives finishing on TDs, have Hurts warming the bench most of the game.
No TO or penaltys, pressure Hurts but do not let him run wild, do not miss tackles, I saw GB miss a lot of first and second contact tackles on the HB tonight.

IOW have a near to perfect game, if Big Mike and this coaches can pull this off on a playoff game, if I was JJ I would seriously consider giving them an extension.

I have serious doubts about us stopping any good running team like the Eagles or the 49ers or even the Titans with Henry.

Can they? That’s why I’ve been saying the 49ers are the best team in the NFC. They do have the ability to stop the run game. Their defense doesn’t have the pass rush that we do but they are much better against the run than the Eagles and us. The Eagles are as vulnerable against the run as we are. The 9ers are good at stopping the run and they will cram it down your throat as well.

their defense gave up 33pts to a Packers offense that really only hit on a handful of plays

might be a situation where Dallas will have to put up big points to beat them

Poster said it earlier.

50 runs and zero holds.

When the rubber meets the road, goodell will not allow us to beat the eagles. They likely won’t allow us to beat the 9ers.

LOL.

People said the same thing last week............. They will lose 2 out of their next three before facing us - GB, Tenn, NY.

All these predictions and they just keep winning. Might be time to acknowledge the reality here. They are good. Really good.
I'm going to acknowledge that divisional opponents are crafted to defeat other teams in their division. Hence, WASH handed them their first loss. I expect NY and DAL will do the same.

I'm not sure Goodell's minions will ever let this team get to a Super Bowl as long as Jerry is alive. The only way we even win a playoff game is if there's another one going on that he can't attend because if he's in attendance at any playoff game we're involved in we WILL get screwed without a doubt. Hopefully at least our first round game will be fairly called because he will be at the game involving his beloved Commanders if they make the playoffs.

Yes they can stop the eagles running game, only thing I'm afraid of is Anthony Brown left on an island in order for the cowboys to put more guys in the box

- i won't say it is Not possible to stop their run game... but Quinn will have to show and prove to me that his team can make the adjustments.

- Misdirection plays and running QBs has proven to be troublesome and hurt this defense.
It's been problems vs the edges ... problems bull-powering our interior ...and problems with LBs Not being able to diagnose & physical take on vs run

I think teams struggle figuring out their scheme early on in games and adjust later, problem is that usually have big leads when that happens. However, Washington the 2nd time they played, weren't fooled and were better prepared for it. That gives our defense hope they can do the same. Our run defense has slowly gotten better and will continue to face challenges the rest of the way.

They will lose two out of three TEN NY and DAL.

People keep saying that and hoping while the Eagles keep adding free agents to address their problems and separating themselves from the rest of our division.

Have a look at the standings we're closer to the Giants and commanders than we are the Eagles

Last time Dallas played the Eagles their run game was very average. I think Dallas and Philly are very similar teams and any game between them will be a tossup. I don't know why everyone is panicking after the Eagles beat the Pack by 7. They had looked very average the last few weeks.

I don't think anybody's panicking but we lost to the Packers and when you see a team run for 300 plus yards and their quarterback have 150 yards rushing and your glaring weakness is stopping the run.

It is reason for some moderate concern!!!

This would not surprise me at all
