Can we talk about how disappointing Maliek Collins has been

Had 2 sacks against the Cardinals, hasn't been seen or heard from outside of that game. When you get gashed on the ground like we did today that means you are losing the battle in the trenches. What's up with this guy? All the reports out of a camp suggested he was ready to "tear up" the league

Another overhyped Cowboys youngster. He was a 3rd round pick so my expectations weren’t that high. As long as he can be a decent starter.

Who? Last time I heard that name was the Arizona game.

Cowboy players are always overhyped

I wonder how much losing McClain hurt his game. Were not getting much from the 1 tech and have players out of position asked to eat up space. We need help fast at every level or need to seriously change up defensive schemes to try to mask issues.

we need a big one tech tackle beside him. what we have is a scrub like pea playing beside him. Collins is being double teamed and our one tech is suppose to be the guy that is doubled teamed. so there is no way Collins can do anything.

They played to defend the pass as their top goal even on probable run situations.

Jaylon is very limited.

Collins gets most of the double teams.

Starting 1-tech DT Paea was out.

They played much of the game with two 3-tech DTs.

that explains how bad the front office has been at not having a viable backups on d-line.

He's far from the problem. He may be the third best defender on this horrible defense.

Think about this. However bad you feel Collins is, there are 7 to 8 starting defenders worse than him playing for us. Front Office failure.

Yea after a pitiful performance like this I'm certainly not suggesting its all on Collins. But stopping the run starts up front

Run stuffing DT, and a healthy MLB would do wonders for this team. And before the "That wouldn't fit into Marinelli's scheme" crowd chimes in, just know that talented players win games, and coaching only goes so far. Rolando McClain: I wished he'd had a better head on his shoulders. The Cowboys could use his athleticism.

He's another JAG.

Shows up now and again for a flash to make people feel like maybe he's getting it....then disappears for weeks again.

The fact that Paea has not practiced much if at all and struggles to finish games tells me we made a mistake with him versus McClain, or another NT type guy that was available. Collins cannot hold up to double teams and gets creamed.

It's difficult to have depth at 1-tech. If you have a healthy starter, the backup will barely play. They play two 3-techs in obvious passing situations. That generally results in a 3-man rotation at DT with the 4th guy barely playing. With the two 3-techs playkng as much as the 1-tech it would be tempting to have another 3-tech active instead of a backup 1-tech.

The play that really killed them was that run by Rodgers near the end of the game. The RDE jumped inside of the OT and there was no outside contain on Rodgers.

Paea is terrible. I’m tired of bringing in these rejects.

Paea being out has hurt him. Price isn't the answer and Collins is not a 1-tech.

Not even close to being the 3rd best defender.

Sean Lee, Byron Jones, Jordan Lewis, D-Lawrence and Irving are FAR better than he is. Collins just isn't good. Gets dominated on double teams and smart O-Linemen eat him alive by getting him off balance.
