This guy…

Showed up in the preseason. I kept saying to myself who is 30? Then last night the young man just balled out. Undrafted. Simply amazing. Played like his hair was on fire and kept making plays. After the blocked kick I thought I would not be asking about who 30 was anymore.

Thoughts?

He is as quick to react and as aggressive to the ball as we have had in a long time. He may need to tone down his after the play antics but he is a special kind of player. How does a guy with that ability not get drafted or is Quinn just bringing it out in guys like Thomas and Bell?

Thomas was a good safety that got lost during the draft process to playing on a terrible defense at GT.
Didn't help he was asked to do a lot and too much.
Was the best safety for GT since Morgan Burnett, but Burnett played back on a decent GT team.

Definitely set a tone last night.
What if they made the FG, or worse if not for a bad snap, got a TD. That changed or could have changed the entire game, though early.

Eh, kinda thought he would be one of those preseason standouts never to be seen again. Wrong on that one. Bell was impressive also. Couldn’t buy a safety for years. Now you need upper management skills to get them on all the field throughout the game. Who was it complaining about keeping 6 safeties?

First series was scripted which made them seem quite a bit better offensively than what they are. 33-3 would’ve been an acceptable outcome lol!

Thomas one of those dudes that for whatever reason, just has a knack for playmaker. I think it was Parcells that used to talk about trying to find players with that gift. Glad to have him out there.

After reading about his difficult start in life, it makes him easy to root for.

His move to jump over the line to block that FG was top shelf. Then hustled to throw a block that let Noah Igbinoghene score. It was a wow play for sure.
To me his concentration and discipline during the play was notable. actually to me the most impressive part was putting all he had into getting into positon to make that block then doing it,
