football season goes by so fast it should be 2 preseason and 18 regular season

yea, but the more we add to the "regular season" the less things like 1,000 yard rusher/receiver actually mean.

1000 yard rushers arent that big of a deal even now, only around 62-63 yards a game.

oh yea - but people still use 1k as a benchmark of a good season. if we had a back that only averaged 63 yards a game we'd NOT be happy.

is there any * in the recordbooks for single season records when there were 14 games vs. 16?
