So, educate me. If we had kept all 3 of them, where would our cap be for this year, next year, and how do you justify having 2 of those 3 making more money on the bench than the starters as good football management. Thanks in advance for any effort you put into an actual answer.

Davis is out of football, Gurode is warming the bench for vet min, and Colombo is in Miami doing a great job in the "suck for Luck" sweepstakes.

We went from 111.6 yards rushing a game last year to 84.8. Huge drop off thanks to Jerry Jones. We are 27th in the league in rushing right now. The decision making in the front office has to change. It's long overdue.

Davis and Colombo are done. Colombo was rated the worst tackle in the NFL last time I checked the stats. Davis is not even playing. Costa is playing very good other then a few bad snaps the one game. Gurode used to launch them over Romo's head too so I see no advantage to having Gurode here over Costa.

They gave Free a big contract and drafted Smith 1st overall, I don't see that as going cheap. Our line is pass protecting better then it has in a long time. This will be a great line by next year, you can't rebuild it overnight.

We could have and should have brought in one average to above average vet starter to add to the group. We have asked too much out of Houck/Garrett and the kids and they are failing so far and showing no signs of improvement in short yardage or running up the gut.

Perhaps the answer is to change our style of blocking as going straight ahead against defenses is not working at all. I don't know if Houck knows how to coach them to play any other way though.

We definitely need at least one premium interior player, a new OL coach and a new blocking system. Otherwise, we are not giving Garrett a reasonable chance to be effective as OC.

I think the running game is suffering from 3 new offensive line man (basically three rookies) with no offseason still trying to gel. Also, we are more of a get in space line than a big bruiser line now. The constant injuries are not helping either. Anyways, I expect by the end of the season, our running game will be better than it was last year.

Even though we are struggling to run the ball, I still believe they made the right decision to move in another direction. Some times you have to take a step back in order to move forward. I just wish they would design a running game plan around the strengths of the current offensive linemen.

We ran last season??

We are built to pass protect, screen and sweep. Let's just stick to doing those things, and mixing in a normal run every now and then.

Problem is they arent running many draws, sweeps, traps or screens. The Niners put on a clinic yesterday on how to take advantage of overzealous linemen.

we need a "Crickets" emote.

We can't run because Jerry neglected the OL for year after year until this past spring. But you can't rebuild it all in one season or you'll have an OL loaded with rookies.

But guess what we did? Yep, Jerry's a genius.

Nah. It is pretty much just the opposite.

Jerry the GM couldn't build an OL, so he went old and expensive several years ago. It wasn't sustainable. Now the team is paying for it....

If Dockery did not get hurt, we'd probably not be having this discussion. He's the bigger, stronger vet we brought in and he's not been able to play much.

Garrett hires his own staff and signs off on all players. At the end of the day, if we don't have that player or coach, it's more his fault than anyone elses.

Garrett's job is mostly to coach the players he is given and he may give some feedback to the GM about how the players are performing and what the team is and isn't doing well.

Jerry's job is to build the roster with input from his scouts and coaches.

Dockery was an afterthought. He was brought off the scrap heap to provide some veteran depth and we brought him in after the second week so we wouldn't have to commit to paying him a whole year's salary since he wasn't on the first week roster.

If we were really serious we would have got someone during the regular FA period during TC and before preseason.
