Can't fix defense this year, might as well build on our strength

I think it's asking too much for us to make the defense do a 180 this offseason, so if you can't do that, why not try to score more points? Perhaps that was our thinking with this pick -- it will be much easier to help the offense score more points to offset the inadequacy of this defense.

But then again, perhaps Martin was just the BPA regardless of offense or defense.

With that said, I fully expect us to address the defense with the next few picks.

the #1 goal since romo can't go anywhere, is to protect him and his back. 2nd is getting the running game much more consistent so late in games you can run it down opponents throats.

a top 5 oline accomplishes both. its a good day frankly.

so whats our plan, let teh otehr teams score so much they punch themselves out. reminds me of the tv show coach when Luther is defending the defense for the last five minutes of the game because the other team ran so much they tired themselves out.

THE PLAN IS TO OUTSCORE THE OPPONENT. oops

Martin added to what will be a very good if not great offensive line. BUT IT"S COMPLETE CRAP, to think you can't rebuild the defense in one year. The thing is, you have to have a committed front office to do it. You have to spend money in FA, and you have to draft very good. Oh, and you have to have a great coach and some great scouts.....

Well, sometimes a great offense can be a good defense (to a certain extent). If we are able to continually put together long drives, that should keep the defense off the field more (hopefully).

in order for thsi to work you have to have an offense that scares defenses, do we do that?

if you're going to draft on offense instead of defense when defense is the highest need, you get the position that affects the offense the most, which is QB. By the time we're done 'rebuilding', Romo will be 37. We seen what Seattle did to arguably the best QB in the league, who is also getting up in years, with Manning. Does anyone honestly believe we'll out-Denver Denver? If you're going to 'rebuild', rebuild around a new QB or focus hard on the defense.

this is not a great offensive, and we are one hit to romos back from being a really bad offensive

its a big whiff and a miss by Dallas to see a glaring need at FS and sit at pick 16 and say "you know what guys, you make your safety stronger because as hes being abused out there, hes learns more".

The pick would be great, if it helps immediately, like T Fred did, i loved that pick. At the end of the season it wasnt the OL so much as our coaching was holding us back on offense, but the glaring need of the D, was the fact the middle was easy pickings for any team to get a first when needed. The detriot, gb games should have been playing non stop in our war room.

You are working mighty hard to see the sunny side.

We better run the ball more or it's useless.

Remember the Escobar pick last year and the promise to run more two TE sets? It didn't happen and I don't expect more rushing attempts either.

yes, that paid off instantly. Defenses didnt know how to counter it, oooo am i thinking again, i hate when i do that.
