I'm posting this here because the thread about Garrett's timeouts was closed.

I don't think him calling those 3 timeouts was that stupid. Had our defense stopped them, we would've gotten the ball back with about 3:30 left and no timeouts. If we didn't call the timeouts and our defense stopped them, we would've gotten the ball back with about 1:30 and all 3 timeouts. Our defense didn't stop them so it didn't really matter either way.

Agreed. This team seems incapable of playing strong on both sides of the ball on the same day.

And again their red zone offense is average at best. We settle for a lot of fg's if we even get there.

The cowboys dont play to win is the problem I knew they'd go down and only get a fg. They play to conservative instead of going for the win.

True. They have no killer instinct on offense. Boring, vanilla, "Romo to Witten for 3 yards" offense.

it actually looked like they were playing fr the field goal when they had a 1st and 10 at the Chiefs 35 yard line down by 4, that series of plays was confounding to me. IIRC, they made 3 two-yard passes in a row and caught what? one?

yep....and I said it before the season: 7 or 8 wins, but I sure wanted to be wrong: BADLY.

the Cowboys are never going to win consistently as long as they just keep settling for fg's.

They suck in the red zone. No running game. They have multiple offensive problems.

Sad but at that point I actually agreed with the startegy. I had next to no confidence we were sticking it in the endzone. Playing for the FG and another possesion to perhaps win with another FG was sadly our best play.
