I'm sure it'll be awesome.

That’s including the 600 receiving yards but not the extra 4 TDS.
So 1300 yards 21 TDS in 14 games.
Not worth the money?
And he couldn't contribute late in the playoffs. He was worse than a back plucked off the street when the games mattered most. That’s including the 600 receiving yards but not the extra 4 TDS.

You got a point bigcat, but it's moving forward right? Since it was a 5 yr deal I believe.
And turray is highlighting that with the workload being eased up in future years. You see what I'm saying?

When was the last time a premier pass rusher or DB had to have their "workload managed" in the prime of their career one year into a massive extension?
I'm sure it'll be awesome.

No the rule is the entire histor of the RB position.....staying healthy through a new monster extension would be the exception. You’re using Gurley as the rule when he very well could be the exception. He and zeke are very different historically staying healthy.
The only thing that's happened in his first 3 years is he lost his speed!I get your point but Zeke is probably the most durable back I can remember in the last 15 years.
His bowling ball build is usually the type of build that keeps a player at his position on the field.
Gurley has that long lean frame that constantly has nagging injuries at that position.

To be faaaaiiiirrr....
Gurley did post 1300 yards and 17 TDS his first season after signing the new deal. While battling injuries.

There have been Quite a few workhorse backs in history who stayed healthy long enough to stay productive through a second contract.
Seeing as how Gurley's workload was managed more and more as the season wore on, leading into the playoffs (totaling 44 carries in 3 postseason games) and that Zeke has about 90 more total touches through three years, I would be lying if I said this wasn't a concern.
