Can't wait to pay Zeke

I see it different. I think with an ample off season he will be ready to go. Every RB I have seen that people mention as a stat to show how a RB declines I can point to the injuries they have suffered that lead to that decline. Those who can maintain good health have been able to continue a fairly good work load.

What i am trying to say is that every RB will have his injuries. Zeke is nothing special here.
But even if you are so lucky with him that he wont have any in his career, committing to him longterm is a very high risk. Because the possibility for a RB to have a injury free career is near zero.

But again, RBs declines have to do with injuries but arent a result purely by them. You trying to pin everything on injuries. Thats a very simplistic view. I wouldnt make decissions by that.
I can have an argument with simplistic views because often times it takes a long time to explain why they are wrong and most people dont wanna listen.

In the end Zeke had his share of injuries already. He had some ankle problems last season. I know you view only major injuries as injuries that afect RBs careers. But in my experience in football its those small nagging ones that become very complicated with time.

I'm sorry I think every player is different and if you expect to keep a stud you pay him. RB you may think is a dime a dozen and for avg backs that may be true. I saw what this offense looked like when Zeke was out and I see the overall difference when he is in, not just as a runner but an all around RB blocking, catching and rushing. As for injury every player gets bumps and bruises what yet unlike guys like Murray Zeke has not had to deal with major knee surgery in college and in the pros or any kind of knee surgery. It is the major injuries that have cost players. I watched Emmitt and other great take on a bigger load and thankfully because there were able to avoid injury their career lasted. I can't say 100% when Zeke could sustain a big injury that effects his career nor can I say that about any other player at any other position

I like Zeke... get that 2nd contract big dog!
He runs, he catches, he blocks, he doesn't miss games and he's your most important offensive weapon and an inspiring force.

I have no problems with extending the man. Hopefully he keeps his nose clean.

Exactly.....and the sooner we lock him up long-term, the better.

Zeke's biggest game, he had below 3 ypc. What did he do against the Seahawks in 2017 when it was win or go home?
Green Bay 2016, Detroit 2016, Tampa Bay 2016, Green Bay playoffs 2016, Zeke 2018 twice Philadelphia, Zeke 2018 Saints, 2018 Atlanta, and Finally Zeke 2018 playoffs Seattle. Your boy Barkley? CRICKETS....
.

A lot of that had to do with how bad our coaches schemed. The Rams knew they could just gang up against the run and dare Dak to beat them with the pass, which he didn't.
So we are signing Zeke and getting a new QB?

And what does any of this have to do with massive workload management for Zeke?

Already he gets training instead of practicing during the weeks.

If teams can just gang up and stuff the run, that has a big impact on Zeke's workload, don't you think? It's my opinion that Jerry should be on the lookout for a better QB. I don't think he will, but that's what I think he should do.

No it doesn't have a big impact on his workload. Zeke had 47 yards against the Rams. He was about as ineffective as a runner can be all game. And yet he still got 20 totes.

I dont think RBs are like a dime a dozen. In fact i think great ones are as hard to find as players in other positions too.

What i believe is you dont need a great RB to be successfull. You just need a good one. And those you can draft in round 2-3 also.

The main problem of our offense was NOT that we missed Zeke. Of course we missed him, every offense would. But the main problem we have on offense is below average play at the QB position.

Again: of course there will always be a player that is an exception to the norm. Someone who will prove statistics a liar. A RB for instance who wont get hurt in his career. Who will be able to perform on a high level like Emmit for years.

But i would never base my decissions on hoping that the one i drafted is right this player. That is a decission more out of emotion and wishful thinking than out of rationality. That may result in a pleasant surprise but the risk that it wont is way too high. Just look at how JJ ran this franchise based on exactly that strategy and what he got from it. Exactly zip. But he is incurable. He still thinks taking high risks is the way to run everything.

You look at the positions in football and what injuries happen at those and how they affect the player. For instance torn archilles tendons are very rare at the QB position but "common" at the CBs. For a CB that can be the end of his career or at least of a great career. For QBs it "just" means missing half a year.

Same is true for RBs. Injuries to the legs, like torn ACL, MCL etc are a common injury to them. But it will affect their careers immensely. To think a RB will not suffer one of those is ok, but not the right approach when thinking about binding your franchise's fate to that player.

Seriously? I don't care how great of shape your in - being in shape and "football game shape" are two completely different things. If you haven't carried a football WHILE BEING HIT for 6 weeks, coming back and running the ball 24 times can be an arduous task.

Again, he was supposedly in "football shape". And again, it was not as though he went out with an injury - he played football and then was out some games.

When it mattered, the "engine" of our offense had a mediocre game when it mattered most. He then looked terrible and had Trent Richardson level vision against the Rams.

Give Zeke a nice 3 year extension....

Anything longer would be ridonkulous...

Most of those games you just mentioned are from 2016 - and in 2018, his BIGGEST GAME he rushed below 3 ypc.

And what the hell did Zeke do against the Saints? He had 75 yard and 3.3 ypc.

How many catches and total yards he have. Every team keys on Zeke. He is the Cowboys offense.

Yeah the Colts game that meant nothing to us and everything to them.

That game still meant something to us...

And LOL “we played poorly because it was kinda meaningless!” Is not a good look, bud. Especially since we gave it our all in a TRUE meaningless game against the Giants.

Nice try.
