Just an idea that I was thinking about. I would not mind seeing the Cowboys move Canty to the strong side where Spears is and have Spears take over Canty's spot on the weak side.
I think Canty has the pass rushing and run stopping ability to go against the best LT in the league. Yes, Spears is good against the run but wasn't that good at getting to the QB.
This is not a knock on Spears, who IMO, would benefit from the weak side, going against the RT.
I understand that there could be a transition on hand and foot postitioning but I think Canty has the athlethism to make the transition as well as Spears.
In my suggestion, our line would be Spears, Tank Johnson and Canty on the front line followed by Ellis, Thomas, James and Ware.
Just imagine Ware and Canty coming from the same side!!!!!
IMO, I think Canty who is 6'7 and 300 plus pounds could easily hold up to big LT just as well as Spears who is 6'4 and 305 pounds.
Canty's 6'7 and his wingspand would be in the face of the QB's and effect the vision of the quarterback, alot like Ed"To Tall" Jones did back in the day.
Between Canty's size to stop the run, speed to pass the rush and the height to bat balls it would make sense at least to look to move the two players.
As I suggested earlier, Canty and Ware coming from the same side would be down right scary for QB's and those who have to block.
What are your thoughts on making a switch between Canty and Spears?
