I think we finish 7-9. That would make us pick around 13 ( I think )

With no further adieu....

1) Robert Quinn - 3-4 DE. ( If we stay in a 3-4. If we move to 4-3, then Paea.

Best defensive player in the NCAA IMO. Yes, better then Peterson. Falls this far because of character concerns. (suspended for the whole year). Hopefully he doesn't light it up in offseason workouts. Best pass rusher in a long, long time. Anthony Spencer sucks. Quinn+Ware = Unfair. Lots of people will not agree with this pick. Well, pass rushers are the most important positions of the defense. Two pass rushers of this quality means trouble. BPA.

2) Jared Crick - DE

Unblockable DE at the college level. He reminds me of J.J Watt, just a little better. Steps in and starts right away in place of Spears.

3) Marcus Cannon - G

This guys a baller. DOMINANT this year. He could potentially step in for Leonard Davis day one, I'm not sure though. He will be a great guard in the NFL one day though. IMO the best O-Lineman in this class.

4) Demarcus Love - OT

I know, I know. Waited to long for a Tackle. Not a great year for tackles and no real value. This guys a project but has the potential to be great. A steal this late.

5) Jaiquawn Jarret - FS

This years Nate Allen. Great instincts and a good leader. He'll light it up in workouts so I doubt he'll be here. I can dream though.

6) Allen Bradford - RB

Barbers replacement. Big, strong short yardage back from USC. I was all for going for a RB, but I think Choice and Felix make a sick duo. No need to waste a high pick on a back when we have other needs.

6) Marcus Gilchrist - CB

Gifted corner from Clemson. Quaterbacks avoid this guy. He has 9 PB this year and a pick. Falls this far cause of character concerns.

6) Greg McElroy - QB

This guys a winner straight up. Good make a very good backup QB one day. Plus his dad works for the organization.

7) James Rodgers - WR

He can be our KR/PR, and a good deep threat. He's like a smaller Dexter McCluster. He should go way higher. His size and concerns make him fall around here.

Thoughts?

I know, no tackle till the third. Theres just no value IMO. Plus, you know Jerry will address this line in FA, and he likes the flashy pick.

I think theres about 4 day one starters, and some quality depth. With Quinn and Crick, our D just went from mediocre to amazing. I think Gilchrist can step in and be a 4th corner. Jarret can replace Ball. That kids sick.

Feel free to critique.

Decent draft except Jarret, he is awful. If the Bradford that showed up against UCLA, shows up for the Cowboys, he would be a steal. James Rodgers is applying to get another year of eligibility and is expected to get it.

I would fly to valley ranch and Slap Jerry and the Ginger if we took 3-4 DEs with our first two picks. Slap them so hard that Jerry would be a ginger and Jason would have Jerry's hair.

I'm becoming more intrigued with the idea of drafting Robert Quinn if our pick is in the 8-12 range.

In a 3-4, Quinn is an OLB and Crick is a DE.

In a 4-3, Quinn is a DE and Crick is a DT.

Although, I don't see him as a 3-4 DE, but rather a OLB.

Only if we trade Spencer. We already have Ware, Spencer, Butler, and Brandon Williams.

I like Quinn a lot but we'd have a logjam at the position.

I would not take Quinn at that spot...Character concerns and high draft picks can lead to disaster. We did good with getting Dez but I don't want to try our hand at pushing it.

I don't think it's an impossibility. The organization may feel that it has run its course with Spencer knowing what he is and isn't capable of. I actually think he's been a very reliable run stopper (when he's not taking himself out of position), but in all honesty, three sacks from OLB in a 3-4 is just not acceptable. They could opt to trade him; with all the teams now switching over to 3-4, a player like Spencer still has some relative value. Just a possibility.

I also wouldn't bank out on Brandon Williams future here. Remember, he was Wade's pet player, so I don't think the coaching staff moving forward will feel obligated to keep him around.

did you do any trading? or where did we get 3 6th round picks. I though we only ended up with 1?

I would love the McElroy pick IMO he's one of the most underrated QBs in college football.

Alabama's offense is very balanced with Mark Ingram, and Trent Richardson at RBs and the coaching staff doesn't ask McElroy to do too much passing in the offense.

If he was in an offense that passes the ball alot he would be a 1st round pick he has pretty good passing skills and doesn't turn the ball over alot.

That's one of the more optimistic assessments of McElroy's game I've ever heard.

What do you think of him as a QB?

i think were going to take a de with our first pick, dont think the cowboys will resign spears brain, and im not overly fond of hatcher, if we pick say 8th to 12th in first round

but you can fly by and pick me up brain, i would love to see you slap jerry, or try too :laugh2:

see Chris' post.

edit: That was a typo. Quinn is a 3-4 OLB. My apologies.

Read the latest Sporting News article on Quinn and let me know if you still feel that way.

Warming to the Quinn pick.

Depends on if we can get some OL/FS help via FA but I love the idea of it. Spencer smells like hes lazy

Love is a 2nd rounder, no?

Mcelroy isnt a good prospect imo

Yeah, if we don't get any line help in FA then I think the pick should be Sherrod. But Quinn is a gangster.

And I doubt love goes that high. He's a project IMO. No way he could start day one.

I think you should always pick up a QB via the draft every year. Even if you have a Brady or Manning. You never know. I just like McElroy.

The one I seen talked about him getting over $5k in moneys, doing things with agents and lying to the NCAA...why would I not feel the same way?

Maybe I read the wrong article. If you have it, post a link to it please.
