What happens if a team is above the cap and below the floor? For those that are do not understand it, the cap includes prorated signing bonus and the floor is actual cash paid that year. The floor is supposed to be 95% of the cap and with 32 teams this seems like it will be a mess.

I think it's a rolling floor so they can make up for it in the next couple years.

At least, that's what we've been hearing...........I think.

As far as the cap, probably the same as always. Loss of draft picks if you don't stay within it's boundaries.

The cash floor will be spread out over a 3 year period so a team that is under it this year, can actually get back above it in the next two years. So this year all they would need to worry about is getting under the cap.

Still would mean that there is a minimum number that the teams realistically have to hit this year as there is the actual hard cap on the top end to make wiggling too much year to year not viable.

I think we're going to see some FA get some seriously odd money from some teams we aren't expecting because they have to get near to the floor quickly.

I have no idea what point you are trying to illuminate for me that I missed.

For this year, 2012, and 2013 the Cowboys (and every other NFL team) will need to be under the cap.

For the cash floor the Cowboys (and every other NFL team) have a cumulative 3 years to get above it and stay above it. So a team in 2011 can be at 85% as long as if by 2013 they are cumulatively above the 90% cash floor.
