What are the Cap ramification if the Players Union decertifies as threatened. Does that make the current agreement void at that point? Do theRedskins get let off the hook? Just wondering....

I think de-certification is a measure to prevent a lockout before the 2007 season (which the owners may lockout if its uncapped). I don't think it has anything to do with the cap for the 2006 season, the cap for 2006 will be locked in if there is no CBA before the start of the league year. The CBA is in effect through the 2007 season, but the urgency to get an extension done is because the final year of the CBA is uncapped. Upshaw has said repeatedly that once the cap is gone, the players won't accept it coming back.

That doesn't help the Commanders imminent cap problems for next year though.

On the Ticket earlier this morning, they said they were near an agreement, and don't be surprised if it is announced next week. I stated yesterday in a post. That I voted NO in the poll, that an agreement would be reached by the 24th. However, I said don't be surprised to hear that an agreement is in place, but terminology or something liked that needed to be worked out on a few issues. And we will hear about it next week.
I would link it if I knew how and had the time.
I'm not Nostrodamus, but it was just a pure lucky thought, if indeed an announcement is made. It's just the way the NFL has always worked.
But I feel for some reason, one of these points to work out, is the revenue, and salary cap, that it will be increased by the NFL (Taglibue) for more than the normal increase to help out the Commanders and their cap problems. If it was the Cowboys, they would not only 'not increase' it, but probably decrease it. Somehow the Commanders will get out of cap hell.

The Commanders are planning another FA splash.Big names like Terrell Owens,Ricky Williams are just a few they have there eyes on.:scram:

That sounds a little paranoid and delusional as there are teams worse off than the skins number-wise.

There can be no lock-out in 2007, because of the CBA still being in effect. An employer cannot legally lock-out employees when a ratified CBA is in effect, no more so than the employees can legally strike.

If an extension isn't done by 3/1/07, then you'll likely see a lock-out in 2008.

That should be good for the Commanders. They are great w/ scrubs.
