A question for anyone. If we cut players ( ie: Barber, Williams or Davis ) during this season, will the pro-rated cap hit occur this season or next?

My understanding they would get paid for the remainder of the season. I don't see Dallas cutting these players at this stage.

You are right in that they would be paid the rest of the season. I was wondering about the pro-rated amount of their signing bonus. Being that this is an uncapped year...would it count this year or next?

It's my understanding nothing rolls over into the next year as of now.

It's my understanding nothing rolls over into the next year as of now.

According to several of my sources, it's actually the opposite -- nothing accelerates into this season (or next season) for anyone cut during this league year. All future prorations remain counting against each season just as they were originally prorated.

The new CBA, however, might address what happens to those prorations.
