How much money are the Cowboys under the Cap under the current CBA

under the current CBA there is no cap. If there was a cap, we'd almost certainly be over it, but I think we'd be able to get under by cutting MB III, Roy Williams, LDavis, MColombo, Igor and possibly Newman. Seems like a lot, but most if not all of these guys would be gone even w/o a cap.

Cutting Davis would accelerate 12 million dollars to the cap under the old rules more than his cap charge

Cutting Roy would alos cost about 3 mill more than keeping him

It's hard to tell because I'm pretty sure they've piled salaries into this season knowing that there wouldn't be a gap.

It is the signing bonuses not the salaries unless the accelerated bonus goes away in the next cba we will have to keep a few guys peopel are dying to run out of Dallas because paying them and keeping them for a year even as a backup is less painful then out right cutting them. Yea that why you better make darn sure who you sign in FA and who the head coach is leading them.

I thought some of these contracts were salary cap friendly. Hopefully it works in our favor

Jerry has said that the Cowboys had the number 1 payroll in the NFL this past season. So, I am pretty sure we would be way over a cap if there was one.

It will be interesting to see how the cap is treated in the new CBA. Will current contracts carry over or will the slate be wiped clean?

I guess I should have been more precise. I didn't really mean salary in the technical sense. I just meant that they had piled contracts into this year because of the non-cap.

It depends how you calculate it, but most people agree that the Commanders had the highest payroll last year.
