Anyone do their own car detailing? What products are you using and did you apply a ceramic coating?

I have a lot of turtle wax and meguiar stuff for cleaning and sealing.

I also have soft99 fusso coat (highly reputable wax) that I need to try out.

I would stop a bit short of calling my car cleaning practices "detailing", but I do take a lot of pride and get a lot of satisfaction in thoroughly cleaning our vehicles. It is a bit of therapy, actually.

With all that said, I have gravitated to the McGuiar line of products... Reasonably priced, quality and delivers the sort of results I want.

I don't wash/detail the cars very often but when I do, I use Meguiar. To be honest, I'm not sure what a ceramic coating is in relation to a car finish. I washed one of them a week ago and then the city decided to tear up our street to replace water lines and sprayed dirt all over it. I usually park in the garage and of course, I didn't this time.

Yup! You hit the nail on the head for me as well.

OP, you have some good products there. I've always found Turtle Wax and Meguiar's to both be a great brand. I really like Meguiar's Cleaner Wax. I have an orbital I use to wax my vehicles. Works great. Once a year or so too I will clay bar my vehicles as well. I'm not quite as good with my truck lately but when I had my sports cars, I was a stickler for a clean car!
