Quinn would be wise to avoid Murray and Russ. Colts would be a better scenario cause you're not handcuffed to a franchise killer. Yet.
Ehhh....this Cardinals job has to be enticing though. He gets to coach the defense and let someone else worry about the offense and if they fail well he can just fire them and scapegoat them.

Which is exactly what Todd Bowles did to Brian Leftwich after his piss poor offense this season

hes bringing his own OC in

Quinn’s status is going to be one of the more interesting situations to watch unfold.

Just my feeling- I think he likes it here and isn’t going to jump into just any head coaching gig. I think he stays put unless the “right” opportunity for him presents itself.

The question then becomes, what is he looking for?
I really can’t imagine he wants the Denver job. They looked awful this year and Wilson looks washed, and they’re basically stuck with him. Seems like a bad situation to walk into.
Arizona is sort of a wildcard. Prior to this season they looked like their arrow was pointing up, but not so much at the moment.
Indianapolis seems more like a “clean slate” type of opportunity where he can sort of build his own thing there and probably be given some time to make it work, considering how bad they are and have no direction at QB.

He's been in the building with Wilson before and the Broncos do have quite a bit of talent if Wilson can put it back together.

The only reason I think its taking longer to hire him is I think a lot of these teams have offensive issues and they want a OC who's going to stay there which means they have to hire them as a head coach. Teams seem to be less willing to hire a defensive mind as a head coach. Now I think the teams that would do that are the teams that have a already good defense and feel like they can make a run now....I think Bronco's might fit that bill.

I think he might take the Arizona job if he receives a solid offer and is guaranteed some control over draft picks. He might be able to salvage that squad. They have some decent players. Worse places than Glendale to work and live... and no state income tax. You never know when your last HC offer is your last HC offer. If they offer him the job he would be foolish not to take it.

I think some may be discounting the financial part of this and the walk away money if it doesn't work out. Matt Rhule is laughing all the way to the bank. His owner had doubts before this season and gave him a 7 year deal at 9M per going in when he bought the team. These fatcats can afford throw away money and know that is a high probability going in.

No job in sports has the mortality rate that HC's in the NFL have so they go in knowing the odds are not in their favor. However, with the recycling program in place they know their last job isn't their last job unless they want that.

It's not about the chances of the team but the desperation of the owner and what they're willing to pay. And Quinn has all kinds of good light shining on him and is as well respected as any coach in the league at any level.

Some owner is, most likely, going to egregiously overpay just to get Payton because of his name to the public, which is a lot better than his track record.

I think we get caught up in the football side of this a little too much and these coaches are all on the business side.

In my opinion, Quinn will be an HC this offseason, the bigger question is, who will they replace with and will Quinn raid our roster via fa?

I think you’re probably right.
Odds are he’s gone next season.
There’s too many openings and not enough good HC candidates.

Outside of Payton, he is the hottest HC candidate this yr. He was basically going to be the new Denver coach, but the prior ownership wanted to bring in a offensive guy to make the sale more attractive. He has a lot of close relationships in that front office, it will surprise me that he isn't their new HC. Also, he does have a history with Russell Wilson in his Seattle coaching days.
