He was going to be their HC, until ownership nixed it in the end, not this time!
Looks like he’s gone.
I’m not so sure. He might go there but it isn’t done until it is done.

IMO, Denver very much needs Payton. He would 100% fix Wilson and that offense, I think, and that is what that franchise needs.

We’ll just have to wait and see. I wont be surprised either way.

I agree. Fangio was arguably a better DC while there. I guess it depends on who he would want as his OC as well. It would have to be a big name OC as that offense has been awful for years

Denver, Arizona...just wasting their time. Quinn isn't leaving Dallas.
Denver though....has a relationship with Russ somewhat. I can see either honestly.

The only thing is, both offenses are terrible and underachieved.....why would you get a DC as a head coach instead of shore that up with a offensive minded head coach....

Do they have enough draft capital to get him? Saints say they want 2 1st rounders in the mid range....they probably won't get that and Broncos don't have their own first rounder but have the 49ers 1st rounder which will be late in the draft...trading compensation makes things difficult. Broncos probably don't mind losing that 49ers pick.

It appears there are 3 hot candidates thus far: Payton, Quinn, Ryans. I expect all 3 to land jobs.

Anybody a good DC or three on the streets ready to coach Micah next season?

DQ probably takes a few off the staff too, so McClay will have a busy offseason.

I heard Sean Payton on the Colin Cowherd show this week and he said the compensation is a mid-to-late first round pick. So, if that is the case, then yes, Denver has the draft capital.

Maybe it is two firsts… but Payton said flat out it was one.

Ok, this is PFT but they mention that Payton said on Colin Cowherd that the compensation for him is a mid-to-late first.

It is right at the beginning, about 10 seconds in to the video.

Yeah couldn't be me....why would I want to go to a team that needs talent but has to trade first rounders to get him. But I guess at the same time if you are that good then just overcome not having first rounders and just win.

Saints will probably have to take that late 1st rounder and be ok with it because I don't see many willing to do it. Texans for sure have no business doing it.
