Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports NFL teams were required to submit seating manifests for the 2005 season Friday, July 15, and the Cardinals officially reduced their capacity from 73,014 seats to 63,000 - making it easier to sell home games out and avoid an NFL-mandated blackout. The 63,000-seat capacity will be the same as the Cards' new stadium in Glendale, which opens in 2006. Comfort was the other reason to lower capacity. Seats will be spread out, not removed.

73,000 or 63,000...it doesn't matter. They'd need to reduce the seating capacity to about 15,000 to get anywhere close to avoiding blackouts!:
