There is as much truth as fantasy floating around about the NT position in WP's defense. He knows what he wants and if Clancy fits the bill I could absolutely see us talking to him.

I do that listening to Ireland talk after the draft, the Cowboys brass isn't pushing any panic buttons over that position. They feel comfortable with a three man crew of Ferg, Ratliff and Stanley. That is why they pass on a NT during the draft.

His size seems a bit small, only 6-1.

I'm wary about him because, well, the Cardinals cut him.

Giants Interested in DT Kendrick Clancy?

Although Kendrick Clancy was only released a couple of hours ago, the speculations of his new destination has already begun. The very first team to pop up? How about the team he played for in 2005; the New York Giants.

The Giants have been in an out of the defensive tackle market all offseason. While Fred Robbins and Barry Cofield are as secure as they're going to get, they are still looking for quality back-ups. They drafted Jay Alford and signed Marcus Bell but would probably feel much more comfortable with Clancy.

Clancy had a career year with the Giants but went on to struggle with injuries in Arizona. His value, especially after this release, has been driven into the ground and if the Giants can get him for the league minimum, there is no doubt in my mind that they'll do it.

1. I thought Zona dumped him, because he wont accept the league minimum? The Giants are going to have to pay to get him.

WP's defense relies on faster players, so the NT doesn't necessarily have to be a huge, space-eater

if we take a look at Clancy, fine, if we don't, fine, but I would trust our 3-4 coach over the Card's

6'1 isn't bad, he's low to the ground and weighs 300 lbs +.

But the Cards have some talent on the D-Line. Darnell Dockett will play one end, Gabe Watson or Allan Branch will be the NT, and Jonathan Lewis, last years 6th round pick will probably play the other end.
