I'm looking at buying a 2004 Ford F-150 Supercrew. I've found one for damn fine price, but it has a blemish on its Free Carfax report saying that it was involved in an accident where it apparently hit a tree.

Now, the seller has been pretty forthcoming about the vehicle's condition, saying that it sustained two small dents to the drivers side front and rear quarterpanels, but I'd like to know if there is a way to find more detail about the acccident in question. Is there a PAY Carfax report that offers more info? It offers a police document # regarding the incident. Is there a way to follow this up? I don't think the seller knows where (or if) the vehicle was repaired, or I would ask him so I could speak with the shop involved.

Any help would be appreciated.

Take the VIN to your local Ford dealerships service department. If it was repaired at any Ford dealership, they should be able to access the work order.

Also, take the VIN to your local DMV to see if they can cross the VIN to a license plate number and then check the plate number for vehicle accidents.

PM me with the VIN and I'll run it with my unlimited Carfax subscription.
