There used to be a real old, fancy, almost gothic designed hotel right on the northern end of the bridge. I tried to find it, but couldn't. I'll ask my son's mom tonight and post a link to it. If it isn't there anymore, that's real unfortunate.

That hotel in your link is real nice. Huge, but nice.

This fire is out of control. I can see huge smoke cloud the goes far into pacific and it also extends far inland towards the east. I have a pic I wanna post it, don’t know how, I’m posting from my iPhone. Tried paste copy nadda.

It is starting to get scary close to a townhome we own in Simi Valley. We rent it out and the current tenants left for dodge yesterday. I can't see how the fire gets there considering the terrain and all but ya never know

Hope everything works out ok for yas. This is someway for me to break the ice on my first vacation in so cal. The smoke cloud I can see from Carlsbad when I look north is huge. I’m guessing my flight might be canceled from lax to philly on monday late night. How long do these fires keep burning for usually? The winds are whipping around like crazy right now.

No idea how long, all depends on those Santa Ana winds which are kicking right now. I think your flight will be fine, the fire can only go so far South. LAX is a good ways away.
