Carpenter/Burnett?

How did these two guys do tonight? I read somewhere that Burnett had 2 big hits and Carpenter had a pick. Did they play as well as I hope they did? Did they give up any bad plays?

Burnett was good in the run game.

Carpenter was at the right place at the right time and caught the pick but he did get some decent pressure on his pass rush a couple of times.

Im rooting for them two soo hard!!! I remember reading when a person from NFL.com went to training camp to write a report on the boys when Ware Burnett's were rockies. He said that Burnett look better than Ware...Burnett was also a Leader on his College team. He just had a couple bad breaks along the way. I have high hopes for both of these guys this year!!

Watching Burnett & Carpenter play last night, I think we can dismiss the rumor re possibility we trade them for either another CB or a NT. Both are too valuable to us. I'm also hoping that Remi Ayodele & Joey Thomas continue to play/develop and turn out to the be players we need so no trades necessary.

Carpenter and Burnett both had very good games...especially Burnett who was all over the place and making big hits. Carp was really looking good in coverage and he was getting some pressure on the QB when rushing. They both looked better than our starters IMO but of course they were going against the scrubs in the second half...Still I think they would have looked good (maybe not AS good) against the starters as well.

Remi had some good moments and has a shot at making the team. I still don't see what everyone else seems to see in Thomas. He made some decent plays but he was also out of position on a couple of plays though he did make the tackles after the catch. Personally I'm a bit underwhelmed with him at this point. But maybe I'm spoiled from watching T-New play the position.
