Carr urges Cowboys defenders to come together after suspensions

The Dallas Cowboys got a lot of bad news on the defensive side of the ball this week, but cornerback Brandon Carr isn't letting these developments get him down.

On Wednesday, it was reported that the nerves in rookie linebacker Jaylon Smith's injured knee aren't showing signs of improvement. A day later, the NFL suspended fellow Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain for 10 games and upheld defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence's four-game suspension.

Carr has has called upon the remaining Cowboys defenders to rally around each other and overcome the adversity.

See if you can urge them to overcome a lack of talent while you're at it, Brandon.

It's good that the defenders want to rally around each other, but there's really only so much they can do with what they've got.

think maybe he will step up and it would be possible he could get a int this year.

I like Carr as a person he seems to have the right mindset but he has to step up and produce for this team. For me it has never been a hatred of him it has been the lack of production and giving up of big plays.

Well, I guess it's better than sheepishly hoping for the best.

I'll second this, and also add this little nugget. Will be interesting to see how the switch goes this year with Carr and Claiborne swapping sides - Carr to the right side of formation. Hopefully this will play in to better production for both.
Carr is the definition of Garrett's RTG - off the field. And has been available to play always - that's big, now if they both can have a solid year...... otherwise our defense could be in for a world of hurt.

True but in my view I think the biggest key to this secondary will be the play of Byron Jones moving to safety. If he can show himself as a legit playmaker in the secondary, Cowboys will be able to do more things that Marinelli want to do.

To be clear it is not surprising news about Jaylon Smith and his nerve sensation. We should get nervous later in the year not during and after training camp.

I agree 100%. You need some players like Carr, but you also need players that can produce. But I'll never complain a player wanting other players to raise the bar.

It's easy to make snarky comments about Carr, but personally I like hearing that he is stepping up in a good way.
Maybe players like Hitchens and Wilbur will take notice and show to be solid contributes this year.
I feel like Hitchens may take advantage of this great opportunity.

Considering his tenure in the league and with the Cowboys he should lead by example on the field not with his mouth. Might sound harsh but his accomplishments with the Cowboys doesn't give him any credibility to be a cheerleader.

Point taken. I just don't see it as anything but positive. Ultimately, I prefer them to shut up and play instead of giving sound bites to media
but when someone keeps putting a microphone in your face eventually you feel like you have to say something.

Must suck to have to answer for someone else's screwups all the time.
