Carson Looked Like Diggs When He Was a Rookie

Although this is true, those saying he had excellent game are exaggerating. It was a good start with a few things to clean up. The move Cooper made to blow by him for what should have been an easy TD (but was an overthrow because of pressure) is a good example of a play that Diggs also would have allowed as a rookie and even in his second season. We should expect for there to be mistakes along the way for Carson, but it was a decent start.
My friend, that was Mukuamu. Go back and check it out. He’s number 24. To quote the office ‘identity theft is not a joke’

In the entire first half, Carson gave up 1 catch for 6 yards, with 2PDs (actually was 3), and 2 near INTs. Keep in mind he was the primary look most of the time Watson dropped back. He played super sticky

After Turpins TD, they played prevent, and he still played solid. The whole game he gave up 5 catches for 43 yards and a TD. And again I want to stress he was Watsons first look on at least half the drop backs and Watson saw nothing there most of the time which led to pressures and sacks.

Carson was getting his hands on the football a lot to start that game. I expected that he’d eventually get an interception.

But it looked to me like the defense changed up their coverage after getting out to that big lead.
They did change coverage after Turpins return in the 3rd. Before that, Carson gave up 1 catch for 6 yards, but was the primary look in most drop backs for Watson. In total, kid gave up 5 catches for 43 yards, most of that in prevent against Amari cooper

Carson showed up to ball. The Browns tried to pick on him, because he was a 5th round rookie on a pass defense full of studs, and he rose up to the challenge. Dude is a gamer.

It wasn't that long ago that if we lost a starting CB, we were doomed. The kid stepped up, played well enough in his first game in the NFL, and Dallas got the win. I'm not going to nitpick anything about him.

Was it? I thought it was Carson. I'll have to go back and look. If not, I feel better about his play. The TD was a tough defense. Not saying he shouldn't have had better coverage, though.

I thought Carson had a really good game. I anticipate he will only get better with more reps.

That illegal contact call was BS. Cooper ran right into him
